Situated on the beautiful hill scattered Southern suburb known as The Bluff. The Bluff is a small cosy community with lots of personality and plenty character. Ansteys beach is accessed via Marine Drive and goes down past the infamously hot surf spot Cave Rock and ends with Brighton Beach at the end of the cul de sac. With only one vehicle access point, the crime is drastically minimised, as this factor makes it difficult for criminals to have an easy getaway. I love this beach during the festive season as it's kept safe and controlled by metro police. They control access to the beach and do inspections at random too. The general behaviour of the beach goers is a lot more tame due to the police presence. You may drive around a bit before finding a parking though, as it is very popular. Lifeguards on duty are efficient and keep the waters safe in both the surf and the pools, which does ease the nerves a bit with this busy time of year. You can grab an icecream for the kids and the tuckshop. But it's best to get in early, set up the gazebo or umbrella and make a day of it. Pack a picnic basket and bring the cooler box, with non alcoholic...
Read more6 years ago- Wow, we got to experience the rescue of a beached dolphin this past Sunday. The amount of marine life we see on the shores of Brighton- it's so exciting. So far we have seen a sea slug, some unusual sea snails and the shelling walks are great.. the braai facilities are excellent for families. Not to mention the amount of knowledge you gain along the way just from being along the shoreline. Lots of potential for becoming a huge tourist attraction.

We hope to bring awareness to the sea life's struggle to survive amidst all the pollution in the water and shoreline. Overall the beach has picnic benches by the pool for a quick stop for lunch with two restaurants, safe and good parking as the dunes are being reclaimed and structural maintenance taking place along the parking bays. We hope to see a cleaner beach for all to...
