Garvies Beach — Attraction in eThekwini Ward 66

Garvies beach is a little way off from Anstey's beach. The parking area is very small and can accommodate only 7 vehicles and a further 4 if parked illegally. 🙃 trying to U-turn is almost impossible if that area is full. There is also parking on Sloane Road itself. The beach is generally clean and fishing is average. You have to walk a long way down the beach to get to better fishing grounds. The big downside is that there are no ablution facilities...

Very limited parking, larger vehicles dont even bother going down. There are no life gaurds so swimming is at own risk. Beach is a lot cleaner than pther nearby beaches. Fishing is very popular here. Not the safest place to be alone at night but definitely one of the better relaxed beaches on the bluff. Perfect for dog walking as it is far quieter too. Lots of monkeys so make sure your car windows are...

Usually a nice beach to visit. No public amenities or walkways. Just beach sand and dunes so legs need to be fit to walk here. Unfortunately fishermen too often leave their rubbish behind. Shame. But clean up crews regularly...
