The Fig Tree Farm in Hillcrest is truly a gem. We've had the pleasure of visiting multiple times and have come to appreciate the tranquility and fresh air it offers. The relaxing atmosphere makes it an ideal escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
This farm is a hub of activities, catering to a variety of interests. From a driving range for golf enthusiasts to a fun game of putt-putt, there's something for everyone. The pottery store, where you can paint ceramics, adds a creative touch to the experience. Plus, the availability of a spa on-site is a delightful bonus.
The local shops offering everything from clothing for adults and babies to freshly picked floral arrangements and jams provide a charming shopping experience. The Fig Tree Farm is perfect for enjoying the warm weather of summer and those pleasant spring days. Picnicking amidst these beautiful surroundings must be a real treat.
Moreover, the nursery with its lush plants and trees for sale is a great addition. But what keeps us coming back is undoubtedly the coffee shop and restaurant. The delicious food and the picturesque views make dining here a memorable experience.
We were also fortunate to attend the Easter market with local vendors, and it was a blast. We can't wait for the next event to relish the unique offerings at Fig Tree Farm. It's truly a place where you can unwind, have fun, and savor the beauty of nature and local...
Read moreWow, what a lousy experience.. To pay an entrance fee and not even have a real hike trail.. The cherry on the top was being totally ignored by the staff at the coffee shop, if you're a person of color.. Please be wary that could be your fate. I stood there waiting, to get someone's attention so I could place my order.. And to make me feel even more worse, the barista gave me a blank stare when I greeted him with a big smile and happy face, Nkanyiso was his name. After I finally got my order, I was so disillusioned by his bad attitude towards me and his colleagues excuse that the machine makes a lot of noise.. How about smiling back at me, was he blind too. Anyway after I finally got my coffee, I observed Nkanyiso speaking to other customers, greeting them and being courteous, is it because they were Caucasian.. I was dressed differently because of my faith, could it have been some sort of race or faith discrimination. Whatever it is.. I suggest if you're a person of color.. Perhaps try any of the many other amenities close by like the valley of a thousand hills. Definitely not worth a penny to pay for that...
Read moreWe have been to Fig Trees Farm a few times now and have always enjoyed it. However yesterday was a bit different, we wanted to have a late breakfast / brunch but unfortunatley we were told, that breakfast ends at 11 and from 11 to 12 is pizzas only. Vegetarian, vegan etc also perhaps give out a pizza menu in that hour instead of the full menu to avoid confusion or that people can know before hand so that they are either prepared or can seek alternative options).
The pizzas took long enough to get there that by the time we received our meal we (our guests who had a specific diet) could've orderd off of the rest of the menu anyways.
I really do not like when one guest can enjoy themselves and another cannot. It was a bit strange and hope that this part will improve and run more smoothly in...
