I visited Phezulu Safari Park last year February . It was the perfect way to spend our anniversary. This review is long over dueš We stayed at the cabbage tree chalet. Itās the 1 bedroom in the cutest hut š Thereās a self catering kitchen, equipped with pots, a non stick frying pan, glasses, plates, mugs and cutlery. It also had a 2 plate mini stove/oven. And a kettle. The cozy wood feature bed truly reflected the African safari experience together with the canvas paintings. Also there was a small table + chairs, if you prefer dining inside. The bathroom had clean towels, and mini shampoos/lotion. Beautiful shower as well. The only downside to our stay was the cold water, when we arrived the water was cold, the lodge has a gas geyser. And when we called in reception, they said it was because of load shedding. I donāt understand how load shedding will affect the gas?Anyway we had a cold bath. After the game drive and other activities, we returned for our braai and later that evening for a shower and it was still cold - this time there was NO load shedding. It was after hours so we called the reception there was no one answering. We saw the security guard, we called him he was so helpful, he got someone to check it up even tho it was so late, but it still was not working. This was around 10 at night. The security was incredibly kind and helpful, we even gave him some braai meat for all his helpšThe next morning, a man came together with Matt, to check it up. They sincerely apologised and the reception asked if we want to change our chalet. We didnāt change because it was already too late and we were checking out. The best part of this wonderful place is the outdoor experience, the braai area was absolutely lovely, it also had an outside bench and chairs, if you love dining outside and admiring natureās beauty this place is for you. Thereās also a pool. The staff at the reptile area was extremely well trained, and educated us about each reptile, we even held a baby crocodile, my partner held a snake!!!! Matt was energetic and extremely friendly, he gave us a detailed explanation of each animal, some of the animals we saw were, zebra, giraffe, blesbok, warthog and impala. The game drive was brilliant. We even did the fear factor challenge š it was truly an exhilarating experience, the staff made us feel safe, and we had loads of fun!!!!! The staff at the reception I feel wasnāt friendly and was lazy in my opinion. 5 star even tho there was a minor hiccup, but the overall experience was worth itšThe view of the valley of a 1000 hills, was incredible!! I highly recommended this place for young and old. You will have the time of your life. I will definitely be...

My stay left me feeling EXTREMELY upset despite the friendly staff and enjoyable amenities. While the accommodating service and pleasant activities were highlights, the experience was marred by several significant issues.
The most notable problem was the constant need to relocate to different hotel rooms throughout my three-week stay. Throughout my stay, I had to move approximately five times, disrupting any chance of settling in and enjoying a sense of continuity. This continual upheaval, orchestrated by the hotel's system, prevented me from enjoying a continuous period of rest and relaxation. Consequently, rather than feeling rejuvenated, I departed feeling physically drained and exhausted. My muscles are in SO MUCH PAIN. I'm sleep-deprived. I couldn't study due to the constant disruptions. š”š”š”š«š«š«
Furthermore, the systemic issues extended to the maintenance of the rooms. From malfunctioning toilets to faulty lighting, it seemed like one problem after another arose during my stay. Despite numerous complaints, maintenance was slow to address these issues, leaving me feeling frustrated and dissatisfied.
Ultimately, these issues significantly detracted from what could have been a pleasant experience. Given the considerable amount of money spent, I expected a higher level of quality and service. Regrettably, the combination of room problems and constant relocation overshadowed the positives of my stay, leaving me feeling thoroughly disappointed. Unless these issues are addressed, I would hesitate to recommend this...
