A wonderful beach with a blue flag rating (simply meaning that this beach has been rated as being one of the better and more pristine beaches around). No dogs allowed on this beach. Lifeguards are usually around to keep an eye on things and there is a shark net placed into the ocean for protection, making this beach a lot more family friendly and safer when you go for a swim. In addition to the family friendly comment, there is also a little playground for young children right by thr beach and restaurants. There are restaurants and a place to get a good ice cream right on the beach front for convenience. This is by far one of the warmest parts of Cape Town ocean you are able to swim in without a wetsuit (you just need to give your body a few minutes to adjust). Watch out for seagulls if you have any food...those guys aren't shy! Take note that during peak hours during the day, if you want to park right by the beach in the allocated parking lot, there is a fee of about R16 and after peak time it is free. However, if you just drive up the road there are a few places where you can park for free if you look around. You can even park outside a shop in the street and it is safe.

Truly on the better beaches in Cape Town and it has multiple facilities on site to ensure that you have a good time and especially, that you are kept safe. Even during popular times, you can always find your own little spot on this beach as it is very long (but Long Beach is somewhere else). There is ample parking on site and multiple bathrooms available. Law enforcement offices are always on site and there are regular patrols, especially during the peak seasons. There have been shark attacks here in the past and they have shark spotters available as well the notification flags. There's also a handy explanation on what the flags mean. From November to March, from 9am to 5pm, they put the shark net out, and from April to October, the nets put out on weekend and public holidays, also from 9-5. There are lifeguards on duty and actively monitoring the surf. As you can see from the pics, the sands (yes, not snow) is an indicator that it can get very windy (mostly from about September to February) but there are spot you can find that are pretty protected from the wind. Great place to swim, relax, take a walk and have a good time.

Fish Hoek is a quaint little town with a stunning promenade. Whale watching from here is awesome. With stunning rock formations and waves lapping over them it's a beautiful walk along the coastline. Sea gulls and Gannett's perched on the rocks, waiting patiently for their next catch or cheeky enough to try steal your icecream. 😂. The early morning sunrises are spectacular and evening sunsets that kiss the ocean that set behind you. There are those who enjoy brisk walking along the promenade and then there are the slow romantic walkers.the small beach with white sand is set in an alcove with many enthusiastic swimmers taking a dip in the cold waters. Fish Hoek beach offers a wonderful restaurant on the waters edge with a playground for kids, benches to sit on and watch the waves and a parking area for convenience. I love this part of Fish Hoek.

Beautiful, clean, prestine wide beach sands and lovely, long sidewalks with stone benches along the way.Thoughtful, but personally, I kinda found it awkward that they have headstone inscriptions on the benches... It's as if you're sitting on someone's tomb 🙈. Great for a romantic strawl or jogging. The strong southerly winds, accompanied with rain and low temperatures (which can last for days), may spoil the party though, like it did during our stay. All that, does not take away the beauty of the place though. I will definitely be going back on a warmer day, but first, I'll make an appointment with the weatherman. NB: I will change to a 5* rating the day the weather behaves.😁

Sea sun and views, walkways, picturesque Beach, Cosy. Cool waters, life guards, restaurants clean toilets, umbrellas welcome, not so windy. Lovely grass patch. Kiddies playpark with slides, swings and more, beautifully maintained. Build sandcastles when its low tide. Pack a picnic and bring an umbrella as you would want to spend the day or afternoon here. Safe parking. Law enforcement nearby. Walkway from beach with colorful seating on a clear path for strolling. Shark spotters and safety net. Picturesque mountain views from shore Pay gate at entry, but not operational all the time. This beach has Blue Status. No dogs Allowed. Bring your snorkel as the waters are clear.

Fish Hoek beach has stood the test of time. Over the years it has improved with the addition of walkways. Lovely for walking the dogs, getting in exercise and kid friendly. The security during the day is good and the municipality does their best with daily clean ups....if only the visitors would do their bit too by taking their rubbish with them, when they leave at the end of the day. Security at night is a concern. Restaurant is disappointing with regard to service but ice cream offering is good. This holiday we have seen dolphins as well as a whale in the bay. 🤗
