Maartin and his staff saved me after a terrible experience from another lodge close by.
My husband called them and they had a room ready for me in 15 minutes. I arrived exhausted, upset and hungry. I was treated with respect. They made sure I was okay and comfortable.
My original booking was at Aquizi lodge, and after realizing I made a rerrible mistake booking at this horrid place, I wanted to return home but I had a long drive and was exhausted. I refused to sleep at this lodge and decided to return home, but my husband found me a place to sleep at Ma Tala Tala, which was the same price as Aquizi. I was even more upset when I saw that Ma tala tala was by far a 1000% beter than Aquizi, how can a place like Aquizi charge so much for such low level accomodation where as Ma tala tala charges the same for 3 star going to 4 star???
The staff was so helpful and friendly at Ma Tala Tala. I felt safe and cared for. They made sure myself and my son had something to eat. I was greeted with coffee and smiles. They made sure I was happy. The next morning, I saw wild life and I was invited for coffee long before breakfast time, even though it was load shedding. I felt content here. I will be back Ma Tala Tala.

Read moreWe went to stay over for two nights as we were invited to a new years function closeby. ||||Half of the lights inside the unit were not working because of globes being blown… points to a lack of attention to detail.||||The unit was terribly dirty, and being a clean person myself and not being able to wipe my shoes on a doormat(because there wasn’t one) was disgusting. Asking the owner how do I wipe my shoes, as it was raining and my shoes were full of grass from the outside, he responded “you can mess the unit as much as you want” obviously not thinking about what am I going to do when all the dirt is inside and not being able to walk barefoot inside. ||||Further to that we got lumped with a few packets of coffee and sugar tied with a rubber band and told by the owner “here’s your beverages”.||||Bathroom was terribly dirty, and I mean terribly! Spiderwebs, mould, and dirt! Clearly not cleaned for months!||||No servicing of the unit over the two days which was disappointing. ||||Overall, this place will not...
Read moreWe stayed the weekend with family in the 8-sleeper unit, in the kitchen there are some cupboards that are falling off, also the basin in the kitchen is prep bowl, so good luck. For a family place the dishes are SERIOUSLY limited, recommend you bring your own would be easier, think camping light. It says room features include bottled water, there is none bring your own. The furniture at the unit was VERY used, the mattress in the one room is stained - I don’t even want to know what happened - the outside furniture is a wild ride if you will survive this meal, and the lounge furniture well I am not sure if it’s meant to be slanted but it is. The swimming pool well let’s blame the rain, but it wasn’t usable. The unit when you get there feels dirty, the one room hasn’t looked like it’s been vacuumed EVER. Also, if you have small kids make sure you pick up all the empty boxes of rat poison scattered across the house.||The location is great, it’s peaceful, very little cell service which is nice as...
