This place is one of the best places to ever visit. It is situated just of the tar road. There's ample safe parking. At reception we were warmly welcome by a very friendly and helpful front desk assistant Eleanor Jacob. She has made our visit to this a very pleasant one. Our tour Ranoldo was very informative, very well spoken and loud and clear voice. His presentation of the was a very exciting and joyvable. He was very patient with us. The Cango Wildlife Ranch has made it impossible for me and my family to have our first time experience of having an encounter with the cheetahs.
I was exactly wanting to do the cage dive in the crocodile tank but was a bit scared. The staff at the Ranch actually convinced and assured me, showing me videos and pictures assuring my safety. There was no worry if you had no water shorts and t-shirts. At this ranch they will provide clean shorts and t-shirt, whatever size you want. I was even provided with a towel to shower after done in pool. I was even provided a locker in change for the personal belongings. The staff explained to me all necessary precautions and procedures. They confirmed I I understood all and I was comfortable for the cage dive with the crocodile.
The encounter with the cheetahs was also such an amazing experience. The staff here made sure of our safety at every step. The were four rangers escorted to ensure our experience was great. One ranger was there, to capture our encounter on camera. At the we able to view all photos were even given options to get them all on a USB or emailed to me at very reasonable cost. When I exited the the, I realized I left my sunglasses in the locker. Now they already locked up. But went back to fetch it. The very tall ranger, unfortunately didn't get his name, was so polite and helpful. He didn't mind although it was time to go home. He advised his other colleagues they reopen handed it back me.
I must says 'HATS OFF TO STAFF/RANGERS' @ Cango Wildlife Ranch. You guys are amazingly awesome. I recommend this place to anyone who wants to be treated with love and care and an experience, you'll...
Read moreGo! Have an amazing experience and support an incredible animal sanctuary. I have a background in wildlife education so I enter zoos and sanctuaries with caution. I know none of us want to spend money in a place that is more about making money than caring for the animals. Well, rest assured, ALL your money is supporting the well being of these animals. All of the staff members I interacted with were friendly, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic about their job. The animal enclosures are appropriately sized and they make sure to change plants, toys, and other things within the enclosure to ensure the animals receive proper enrichment. I had initially bought a ticket that included entrance and one experience but after I received a tour and saw how well the animals were cared for I was happy to pay for more experiences. The experiences always include evaluating how the animal is feeling, they never force an animal to do something they wouldn't be comfortable with. My one and only complaint would be the reptile enclosures. I felt some of them either needed to be bigger and or needed more hiding spots. That being said it is clear to me none of these animals were suffering and the best way to resolve this is to visit and buy experiences. It is extremely expensive to upkeep the care of these animals so please go and spend money here so that they cannot only continue the proper care but also make the improvements they have planned. If you're not already convinced I'll add that my friend who is a wildlife biologist who works with Elephants was...

I recently visited Congo Wildlife Range with my family, and unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. We drove 1 hour and 15 minutes to get there, anticipating an enjoyable 1-hour guided tour that would allow the kids to feed and touch the animals.
Upon arrival, we discovered that only children aged 14 and above are allowed to feed and touch the animals. Younger kids could only touch snakes and lemurs, which was useless for us since all our kids are under 14. They had already handled snakes at Snake Park without any additional fees, unlike this place where you have to pay extra.
Secondly, our group of 18 people, including kids and elderly individuals needing wheelchairs, expected a well-organized tour. Instead, they combined us with another group, totaling around 38 people, for a single tour guide. I raised concerns about this, but they assured me it wouldn’t be an issue. However, it was incredibly crowded, and the guide only addressed one part of the group. Navigating the narrow one-meter paths was challenging, as shown in the attached picture.
This was the worst tour I’ve experienced in South Africa, and this was my sixth visit to a sanctuary. The tour lasted only 25 minutes instead of the advertised hour, with little of interest to see aside from the big cats.
I do not recommend wasting time at Congo Wildlife Range. Instead, I highly recommend visiting Jukani Sanctuary, Monkeyland, Snake Park, Elephant Park, and...
