Unfortunately the first 800m is along a gravel road surrounded by alien rooikrans bush, but after the gate the natural vegetation is pristine and aromatic. There's a surprise at the half way mark when you reach the top of the Geelkrans cliff with a spectacular view of the ocean below. After descending to the beach, the route back along the coast is untouched with fascinating sandstone formations. If you had any doubt that the ocean is full of small bits of plastic, carefully inspect the high water mark :-(. Comfortable 7km walk with kids, but could get hot in summer.
