Goose Valley Golf Club — Attraction in George

Thoroughly enjoyed the round here. The holes are short for a par 72 course so one should be able to hit many GIRs. Rough is player friendly to play from and you won't lose many balls here. Lovely links style "pot bunkers" to test your flop shot abilities. Greens roll very true and are immaculately kept. A lovely course, but the asking price is a bit steep vis-a-vis comparable courses. Par 3 #12 looking out towards the ocean is a beauty in the classic "Redoubt" layout. Clubhouse has a decent menu - burgers, pizza, toasties, curry, fish/calamari and salads....

I enjoy playing this course. It is in immaculate condition. The greens are consistently quick and a bit tricky to read. The fairways are well manicured. Some tough and challenging holes and some fairly encouraging ones. The course is well balanced. If you can't stay on the Fairway, your ball is lost in the fynbos on most holes.

You also get to meet many friendly and interesting people, locals and international visitors.
