Still Bay Nature Reserve is an absolute haven for anyone who loves the outdoors. Nestled beside the sea, it offers a breathtaking blend of coastal views, forested shade, and natural fynbos bush. The walking trail winds gently along the coastline, offering peaceful seascapes one moment and tranquil, shaded sections the next. It’s quiet and serene, the kind of place where the only sounds are the rustle of leaves and the melodic calls of birds.
Birdlife here is abundant, making it a real treat for birdwatchers and anyone who appreciates the calming soundtrack of nature. There are signs of small wildlife like bushbuck and mongoose, though sightings are sadly becoming rarer as some visitors continue to bring dogs along the trail despite the rules. While I love dogs, their presence does tend to scare off the more sensitive animal species a gentle reminder to all to help protect the reserve’s natural balance.

We took snacks as there are picnic tables along the trails where you can sit and take a break. No entrance fee either, so you can enjoy this free of charge, just keep it clean.
