57km over 4 days of brisk walking mostly on the coastline with basic overnight cabins for hikers. No need to carry any food on this trail as there are places to eat along the way, either a decent lunch or diner. Came across only three river crossings with about one metre high waters and easy to cross in low tide. Cellphone reception available 90% of the trail. No electricity at 2 of the 4 huts. The Ganubie hotel is ideal to end off at with shuttle service available to start of hike for R1000 a trip if you have left your car at the start. Some cobble hopping and would recommend boots with ankle support and hiking poles for extra stability.    Read moreInteresting to return 20 years later to find that nothing much has changed. Except that every river was in flood, and it RAINED. And the wind blew. There is a need for some maintenance and the re-building of the Cape Henderson hut should be priority. Haga Haga is a poor overnight option.

   Read moreWhat a great holiday! Easy hiking, although the 20km on day 3 might get a bit long for younger or inexperienced hikers. You don't have to pack food for every meal, you can get lunch at various stops along the hike and supper at the hotel on day 2. Well maintained huts and beautiful beaches....
