The Fourth Kin gum tree is, allegedly, the tallest planted tree in the world, but it is difficult to find. We drove north into the forest towards Woodbush lodge. We followed the signs to the triplets and ended up parking next to a sign to Broederstroom hut (see picture). From there it is a 10min walk up the hill along the hiking trail to the trees. They are truly magnificent and in very good state. The Access road to the parking spot is really difficult and should not be attempted with a non-offroad vehicle. The Cape Parrots and Black-fronted Bushshtikes are incredibly beautiful. The Debengeni Falls an absolute gem to picnic, swim and relax. Well worth spending time in Woodbush, especially with its proximity to Haenertsberg, Zwakala, Cheerio and King Waldrns Harden Manor. Make sure to visit the Debengeni waterfall and while in the vicinity three are lots of things to do like visit Zwakala Craft brewery & Wegraakbosch Dairy farm 🧀!
