The Fourth Kin gum tree is, allegedly, the tallest planted tree in the world, but it is difficult to find. We drove north into the forest towards Woodbush lodge. We followed the signs to the triplets and ended up parking next to a sign to Broederstroom hut (see picture). From there it is a 10min walk up the hill along the hiking trail to the trees. They are truly magnificent and in very good state. The Access road to the parking spot is really difficult and should not be attempted with a non-offroad vehicle. We hope others can enjoy this site as much as we did and that the trees will remain undamaged and as pristine as they...

Woodbush is an incredible reserve. The forest is absolutely spell-binding. The trails and of course birds are fantastic too. The Cape Parrots and Black-fronted Bushshtikes are incredibly beautiful. The Debengeni Falls an absolute gem to picnic, swim and relax. Well worth spending time in Woodbush, especially with its proximity to Haenertsberg, Zwakala, Cheerio and King Waldrns Harden Manor. Being on the route from Polokwane to the Kruger National Park makes it an ideal stop over. For a birder like myself, it is a fantastic area with many endemic and hard to...

The Forest drive is absolutely majestic and highly recommended. A 4x4 vehicle may be required especially if wet. Make sure to visit the Debengeni waterfall and while in the vicinity three are lots of things to do like visit Zwakala Craft brewery & Wegraakbosch Dairy farm 🧀! Also nearby is the town of Haenertsburg with lots of great restaurant options and if you like hiking you can do the Louis Changeon trail which starts at the Haenertsburg...
