The dam is the central attraction and a good spot for any fisherman keen on roughing it out in the sticks. The self-catering accommodation was well suited; the buildings are quite old, so there was only one functional plug in the chalet and no form of lighting when loadshedding sets in. I would advise taking flash lights. The location is quite deep in the reserve, so don't expect shops or restaurants. Come prepared with essentials. Be sure to pack for the cooler temperatures, especially if visiting during the winter months. Reaching the reserve requires traveling on a dirt road for a few kilometers.
