Don't let the unassuming entrance fool you—Lory Park Zoo is much bigger and better than it looks from the outside! It's an absolute must-visit for families and animal enthusiasts, offering a surprisingly diverse range of magnificent animals. 🦁 The Wildlife: You'll be treated to a fantastic display of all the major big cats, including majestic tigers, leopards, lions, cheetahs, and jaguars. Beyond the cats, the park is home to impressive raptors like vultures and a variety of other beautiful birds, reptiles, and smaller creatures. The animals are well-cared for, and it's a great place to observe them up close.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family Fun & Convenience: Lory Park is very family-friendly. There's a small play area where kids can burn off some energy, and a special highlight is the chance for children to enjoy feeding the rabbits—a truly hands-on experience! For parents, there are convenient shops/cafés on site, perfect for grabbing a quick bite or a drink. Plus, with plenty of sitting areas scattered throughout, you can easily take a break and rest your feet.

Good to Know: Remember that entry to the park requires payment at the gate. (Check their official website for current entry fees and operating hours before your visit!)

If you're looking for a rewarding day out with amazing wildlife encounters, Lory Park Zoo is a fantastic choice that delivers far more than its exterior suggests! Highly...

We would love to Thank Lorry Park Zoo for engaging our youth in Animal time and education.

I believe that this is one of the most beautiful Zoos in South Africa right in the heart of President Park Midrand Healthy fresh beautiful Lively Colourful various types of Reptiles to Bird Species, From Giant Boa snakes to Fish Eagles , Jaguar to Rabbit.

26 Children from NJCH and NLC children’s orphanages in President Park on 1 July 2023 where treated to a lunch outing and some lollies after partaking in The 1st Local Community Clean up campaign just 3 km from Lory Park Zoo.

The kitchen makes lovely fresh food , with order numbers being called out in the Tea Garden. I enjoyed a Sammie and The Youth had hotdogs.

What a treat

The staff are very special and grounded.

To all the volunteers who assisted in holding snakes , getting the owls to fly on heads and arms , keep the gate secure , lion feeding and lion talks thank you thank you from the Top of our hearts

Thanks...

I found it interesting that a fairly compact, peri-urban zoo, would host several big cats, including rare White Lion, Tiger, Leopard, Jaguar, and Cheetah, among others. While the holding enclosures at Lory Park might not be ideal, they are at least maintained in excellent condition, with hardly any unpleasant odour, making for a pleasant viewing experience. The enclosures offer great close-up viewing, with fantastic photo opportunities. Loved watching the Gibon swinging atop the trees and ropes. Several bird species and reptiles are also on display. Loved the antics of the parrot outside his cage. The Lory Park Zoo is a kiddies' haven, and a Lapa venue is available for birthday parties. A Cafe and Gift shop are also on site, with beautiful large trees providing peaceful, shaded seating. Walkways are easy to negotiate, and restrooms were well-maintained. Entrance feed are affordable, especially for kids and pensioners. A...

Here’s another family outing idea for Joburgers. It’s neat, well maintained and the animals look like they’re well taken care off too. They also have a school holiday ranger program for kids aged 6-16 🤩 #whosyouramma #loryparkzoo #thingstodoinjoburg #familydayout #joburgmom
