Don't let the unassuming entrance fool you—Lory Park Zoo is much bigger and better than it looks from the outside! It's an absolute must-visit for families and animal enthusiasts, offering a surprisingly diverse range of magnificent animals. 🦁 The Wildlife: You'll be treated to a fantastic display of all the major big cats, including majestic tigers, leopards, lions, cheetahs, and jaguars. Beyond the cats, the park is home to impressive raptors like vultures and a variety of other beautiful birds, reptiles, and smaller creatures. The animals are well-cared for, and it's a great place to observe them up close.
👨👩👧👦 Family Fun & Convenience: Lory Park is very family-friendly. There's a small play area where kids can burn off some energy, and a special highlight is the chance for children to enjoy feeding the rabbits—a truly hands-on experience! For parents, there are convenient shops/cafés on site, perfect for grabbing a quick bite or a drink. Plus, with plenty of sitting areas scattered throughout, you can easily take a break and rest your feet.
Good to Know: Remember that entry to the park requires payment at the gate. (Check their official website for current entry fees and operating hours before your visit!)

Read moreI found it interesting that a fairly compact, peri-urban zoo, would host several big cats, including rare White Lion, Tiger, Leopard, Jaguar, and Cheetah, among others. While the holding enclosures at Lory Park might not be ideal, they are at least maintained in excellent condition, with hardly any unpleasant odour, making for a pleasant viewing experience. The enclosures offer great close-up viewing, with fantastic photo opportunities. Loved watching the Gibon swinging atop the trees and ropes. Several bird species and reptiles are also on display. Loved the antics of the parrot outside his cage. The Lory Park Zoo is a kiddies' haven, and a Lapa venue is available for birthday parties. A Cafe and Gift shop are also on site, with beautiful large trees providing peaceful, shaded seating. Walkways are easy to negotiate, and restrooms were well-maintained. Entrance feed are affordable, especially for kids and pensioners. A...
