Just had the privilege of visiting the breathtaking Gariep Dam Wall, and I'm still in awe of its grandeur! The sheer scale and engineering marvel of this dam is a testament to human innovation and determination.

South Africa's biggest dam, and what a sight!

You can park your car next to the bridge & walk all the way across if you want. You can stop at various look-out points. Tip- look down near the sand bank to spot the BIG fish!

There are toilets near the parking area - the ladies toilets were closed when we visited and the men's were clean but a little smelly.

There are some blue-monkeys around, please don't feed them!

Go up the steps to the look-out point. It gives a great view of the dam wall and the massive body of water. *there was a lot of broken glass bottles on the steps during our visit, so be careful of that.

Look so stunning😍... it's br middle of 3 Provinces. Such a calm place, and you can walk or drive through via top of the dam free of charge. From Johannesburg almost 6 hr 30 min Drive. Highly recommend place to visit and better if you stay atleas a night. There are many other activities available to do with extra additional cost. We'll maintain by the staff and the toilets are neat and very clean. The roads are very clean. Good 👍🏻 place to have a picnic 😊. Mostly, the weather is a bit windy.
