Kenmo Lake — Attraction in Kwa Sani Local Municipality

This amazing lake is on private property, and no, you aren't trespassing. The owners decided to open it up to the public... For free... And even throw in benches, jettis and bridges.

Firstly, it's hard to believe somebody just owned this in their back garden, but also, it's super cool that they decided to share it with the world. We really enjoyed being here.

Apparently in autumn all of the trees change a variety of different colours and the leaves settle on the lake too... Can you imagine! We'd really like to see that.

The Underberg is one of the best places to see beautiful autumn foliage in South Africa in April/May. At Kenmo Lake it is highly concentrated, making it a good place for photography. The warm afternoon light is ideal because it brings out the colours beautifully. The lake is small and you can walk around its circumference easily to find good angles. Beautiful place to sit and relax. Very quiet and peaceful, pity we had the kids with us otherwise we could have sat for a few hours.
