A wonderful experience, our honeymoon 3 and a half years later.

As we made our way into the reserve, we were met with the most breathtaking view of the valley and mountain peaks in the distance, no wonder it forms part of the BLK logo! The lodge itself and the chalets are well equipped and cozy, perfect for relaxation. We took a (nice and warm) shower outside under a sky so starry and clear that we could hardly believe was real. The silence and tranquility of the reserve is surreal, and the lack of cellphone reception allowed us to truly unplug and enjoy each other’s company. WiFi at reception meant we could still video call with our son and check in, a much appreciated amenity. The food was wonderfully prepared and presented by Lenie, our plates went back clean each time not because we were hungry (they made sure we would not be!) but because it was so tasty. Henry is so hospitable, regularly checking in not only on our experience at the reserve but also on how we were coping on our first trip away from our 1 year old son. Bruce took us on an adventurous and very enlightening trip on the reserve, with a lovely G&T as we watched the sunset and chatted like old friends. Sitting on the front of the safari vehicle was quite an experience!

We’re grateful to have had this wonderful experience, and wish Henry, Bruce and Lenie (and all the other staff) the very...

The experience started immediately after booking. Prices on Booking.com and the lodge's own website were identical. Within 90 minutes, the inimitable Mr. Henry Jones sent an email and called to be sure I know the location, how to drive there, giving route advice and a brief overview of the facilities. A real touch of elevating the experience.

Arriving mid afternoon we were warmly greeted and shown lodge #8. For views and privacy, I did not mention it as the unit to have.

The accommodation, experience, food, drinks and overall hospitality was above good and very attentive.

Nature had it's own surprises for us; locusts kudu, baboons and a flash flood. The spiritual revival for our relationship was so rewarding.

Thank you Henry, Lena,Bruce, Sarah and the...

Sarah welcomed us on a 42 degree afternoon. We were impressed with the main building and guest facilities in the perimeter. Full Board accommodation with game drives, hiking and mountainbiking options. Guest accommodation is mainly a little down the road, built onto the hillside. Very rugged and harsh environment. Be sure you can handle the summer heat. Beautiful drive over the Bosluiskloof Pass with spectacular 4 dimensional mountain ranges in the distance, when you are at the top. We drove a VW Tiguan, very gingerly but a bakkie would be more comfortable. First time visit to this secret part of Middle Karoo. The pass separates Klein and...
