Rough terrain, unmarked trails , some trails had completely been hidden by tall grass or branches . Fortunately we had a guide for our first visit to the reserve
Beautiful scenery just breathtaking natural beauty , the Proteas, The Drakensburg peaks , the fog kissed mountains! It was 14km of awe inspiring nature
The trails are not all the way clearly marked ,in some areas the trail has been overtaken by shrubbery , grass and tree branches My advice would be to go with a park guide/ ranger if it's your first time visiting to avoid getting lost
Take along some water snacks or lunch , wear propper walking shoes Sun protection is paramount and some swimwear for the awesome...

We were only given a map of the trail, so had to follow markings on the trees, we got lost but managed to find our way eventually. If you do go this route, ensure you go early and you have a 4x4. When you eventually get to Wolkberg Wilderness, as you drive in there is just this beautiful space filled with common proteas, succulents, flowers, rocks and ofcourse the majestic mountains..really really makes you reflect and appreciate the world we live in.
