If a tourist overheard a conversation about places to possibly sneak a tan or swim, one would think that the general thought reaction would be “it is probably a fishing village, somewhere out side of Cape Town” not aware that it is a quiet suburb on the Atlantic Seaboard with no commerce or any form of trading.
Between Camps Bay and Hout Bay, there’s a road that descends through the cliffside. Once taken, it meanders and twists down the mountainous incline. Llandudno is in a corner of the world, where its existence seems not to be affected by the universe… this residential area, is home to the “crown jewel” of hideouts…
Its magnificent beach, enclosed with megalithic boulders, transports your mind to an exotic location somewhere on earth. Upon turning your head in both directions or whirling in circles like a Dervish, your eyes become stupefied by the orchestrated audio visual sensory overload named beauty.
This petite beach is a perfect place for a quick photo shoot, sunrise and sunset vibes to pass time or keep you amused. A book and picnic basket if planning to spend the day, or slip on that sunscreen when absorbing some rays, a Frisbee for the dog so that everyone enjoys their...

This relatively small white sand beach is surrounded by wealthy neibors. The access is via either a gravel and wood path or a treed, tarred and steep in places path.
Great for sunset stroll, picnic, a game of frisbee etc. The large granite boulders offer shelter when there is a breeze.

We arrived at 10am on a Sunday morning and were lucky to get the last parking bay in the very small car park. A short walk down a tarred path and this beauty awaits.
Nippers, junior life savers, were out in full force doing their drills and having a lot of fun. Moms and Dads were playing ball with their kids on improvised courts while dogs were all playing happily together. What a lovely vibe with people from all walks of life happily side by side enjoying nature at it's best.
Just a word of advice to anybody going to Llandudno Beach ... it's the cold Atlantic Sea ... swimming here is for the very brave or clad in wet suits brigade.
It's the perfect beach to walk from one side of the beach to the other or just laze on the gorgeous sand and while the day away.
Parking is very limited, and you will be fined if you park on red or yellow lines. It is a residential area, so please be mindful of the residents :)
