Relax Spa at Hartbeespoort Aerial Cableway – A Relaxing Treat with Stunning Views 😍 🧖♀️💆♀️⛰️🚊🎖
Our visit to Relax Spa was truly memorable and rejuvenating!
From the moment we arrived, the professionalism and care from the therapists stood out. Emily gave me a soothing soft-to-medium pressure full-body massage, while Rose worked her magic with a deep-pressure full-body massage and an express pedicure for my husband. Their techniques were both relaxing and effective, leaving us feeling completely refreshed.
The spa was immaculate, and we loved the thoughtful touch of wiping off excess oil after each area was treated—perfect for guests planning to dine afterward without feeling greasy. The ambiance was serene, with soft nature sounds playing in the background and a delightful scent in the air. The pièce de résistance was the breathtaking view of Harties, which they revealed during our treatment—a moment of pure tranquility.
While we loved the overall experience, there were a couple of minor distractions. Being located below the restaurant, we could hear some chatter and the occasional scraping of chairs from above. The room wasn’t soundproof, but its open design made up for it by allowing us to soak in the incredible views. Although there wasn’t air conditioning, the gentle breeze from the open door kept the space cool and comfortable.
What makes Relax Spa even more special is the thoughtful inclusion of cableway tickets (Gondola - enclosed cable car) in the package, allowing us to enjoy a scenic ride up and down the mountain—a unique bonus! Booking was effortless via email, and the entire process was smooth.
We highly recommend this experience for anyone looking to unwind in a beautiful setting. Relax Spa is the perfect blend of professional care and natural charm. We’ll...
Read moreI honestly cannot believe I didn’t come here sooner. Gauteng residents absolutely must have this on their bucket lists, especially if you haven’t been to Cape Point or something similar.
They sell tickets online but they also sell them at the location. We arrived around mid morning and there was a queue for tickets. Parking is completely free but make sure you don’t lose the tag they give you at the gate otherwise it’ll set you back ZAR100.
They offer rides on the regular cable car and there is also an open air two seater contraption which you can also ride to the top of the mountain. I did some mountain climbing happening, not sure about that though (ask management if interested).
The ride up to the top of the mountain on the cable car was around 10 minutes, pretty smooth I would say. If you have zero fear in you, you can take the two seater but I feel like the ride is too high up and too long for anyone to be in the open air like that.
Arriving at the top of the mountain, it was absolutely beautiful and luckily the Harties dam was clear and the weather was great so the views were stunning! There is a nice walking trail for pictures and they have some plaques with information about Pretoria, Harties, etc.
For the adrenaline junkies, there is a sky park with activities to be done while you’re strapped in a rope. There is also a spa if you want to calm down after all that.
The website says there are five restaurants, I personally could identify only three - a regular restaurant, a pizza spot and a chisanyama type of place.
It was nice having lunch while overlooking the beautiful view of Harties, and I definitely enjoyed my experience. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a nice day out, especially...
Read moreThere are only 2 good things about this place, the experience of the cable car with a great view and the fact that if it's your birthday you get a free ticket.
Let's start with all the things that are wrong. You are able to pay extra for a fast track ticket which allows you to skip all the ques. This is both a pro and a con where money solves the wait but it does anger a lot of people who have to wait 2 hours to get through the ques on both the up and down from the mountain.
The food looks great overall but I can't comment on taste. We went to the restaurant at the top first and waited over an hour to eventually get a waiter to bring us the flippen menus and drinks which we straight up didn't want anymore cause they took too long to get to us. A lot of people didnt even care to finish their pizzas which seemed to be the norm there.
Heading down to the bottom restaurant I had to fight to get a waiter to come to my table. Took 45mins for drinks and 45mins after that for food. No it wasn't busy. No I didn't order food when they served drinks, I ordered together. I had a long Island ice tea which by the way isn't on their menus. They basically charge you for the shots that go into the glass so without knowing this or this explanation not having been given, I had to pay R168 for one cocktail. Outrageous.
While there is a skypark attraction and small stores for ice cream and slushies and a bar for drinks, do not go here thinking you can rely on the incompetent waiters to be able to even breathe. What should have been a novel experience from the gorgeous view turned absurd and frustrating very quickly.
Overall, it's...
