Wow!!! The ultimate paradise!! The perfect luxurious palace in d middle of an African jungle!! I stayed at Kwantu before a week that is in August 2014 with my family. It was part of my South African Kuoni SOTC holidays itinerary. The complimentary shuttle picked us up from the Port Elizabeth Airport. En route, we could spot some zebras n giraffes! The journey was about 1.5 hours. We were warmly welcomed at the Pollards Inn, Kwantu! Had a quick delicious lunch and checked in! The rooms were so spacious that we could feel as if we are not confined to a hotel room but have got a lot of space to dwell! A large balcony and stunning landscape amidst the jungle! We were taken on an intro game drive in an open jeep. Our ranger for all d drives was COOLMAN! An excellent ranger who made all the game drives more than just memorable! We could spot the king of the jungle in all the game drives! We followed him, watched it taking rest &, the thrill doesn't end here! We could witness the great zebra hunt by a lion pride of 6! 2 lions, 2 lionesses & 2 cubs! A heart throbbing experience & that too from such a short distance that if the lion tries, it could sit in the jeep by a single jump! That was a lifetime experience! We saw zebras, giraffes, rhinos, hippo, blassbucks, waterbucks, springbucks, impalas, jackel, elephants, blue & black wildebeests & much more! I wish to return to this place in future! I would surely recommend everyone visiting SA to have this...
Read moreMy wife and I spent 3 days at Kwantu recently. What a wonderful place indeed. Being a fully halaal establishment made it an easy choice. The accommodation is really plush, with reception, dining halls and the accommodation extremely comfortable. The 3 course menu at every meal was sumptuous, with the buffet style offerings delectable and tasteful. Found the staff especially awesome. The dining area manager Tewfeeq was a real gem. Fussing over our every turn, making sure we were comfortable and attended too. His general demeanour was a real asset to the place. Then there was Wallen, an assistant in the restaurant whose broad welcoming smile always made us feel special. Anything we required was met a smile and no fuss at all. And a most unexpected surprise was the traditional dancing show by the reception staff. They danced and sang traditional songs and then took the time to explain everything for our understanding. A real special treat indeed. Kwantu was well worth the effort travelling all the way from Cape Town. Looking forward to meeting up again. One suggestion would be getting the game drive guide to improve on his animal, bird and just general nature knowledge. Said a few things I found questionable but didn't want to raise any issues while on the drive. Can't fault their friendliness and general demeanour though. All excellent people persons. Kudos to...
Read moreThis game lodge is not only beautiful and serene, offering a feeling of calm and peace. It is the perfect escape from the city. The mix of clean air and fresh greenery from its well-kept gardens consumes you. It has an enormous lounging area with ample comfortable seating, lined by book shelves for those who like to relax with a book in hand accompanied by soft soothing sound of South African traditional music playing in the background. It's interior capturing the essence of nature with its neutral colours, different textured furniture, and a beautiful dining area. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the ranger who took us on a game drive was very knowledgeable of the animals and the history of the lodge. We had the pleasure of witnessing a beautiful, rare moment of a bond/friendship between a lioness and a tigress who were cuddling together under a tree. The true definition of love knows no bounds, an image that is imprinted in my...
