Faan Meintjes Nature Reserve — Attraction in Matlosana Local Municipality

28/03/21 Myself and my son booked a Chalet at Faan Meintjies last night when we arrived they had given our Chalet to someone else. So they put us in chalet 1 instead of 3. I was upset but accepted it the chalet was lovely considering the disappointment. But they could spend a bit more time cleaning spider webs and the garden around the chalets. There is so much potential there to make it alovely resort I think they would have more visitors. If I was caretaker there I would make alot of changes around to draw more visitors. A nice nature reserve. I visited briefly for the 2020 Vlakvark run. The ablution facilites at the starting/end point well spick and span for the day (there were no showers for runners seeking to get cleaned up after the race).

I also only saw two buck the entire 21km that I ran. The landscape is beatiful though, especially after recent rain.

Amazing Safari, no one was there and we drove around for 4 hours exploring. We saw every animal but the Rhino, although we did see Rhino droppings so they are there.

We also saw a walking trail which we were told just opened ip and is about 5km over 2 hours, so it would be amazing to go back and do it.

Lastly when we left we had a look at the accomodation on site, it was clean and tidy so that’s a great option as well.
