Wild Waves theme park was a place I used to love visiting as a child, but my recent visit left me feeling quite disappointed. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming, but the service was not up to par. I noticed that the lifeguards at each ride were not very attentive and they were not ensuring the safety of the guests. This became particularly concerning when I got stuck in a ride with another guest who should have waited for me to finish before being sent down. This could have been a serious safety issue if the lifeguard had not noticed and intervened.
In addition to the poor service, the rides at Wild Waves did not seem well maintained. I almost slid off of the sides of multiple rides and the speed of the rides was not well controlled. On one ride, I hit my hip on the wall at the end of the pool that was meant to slow me down. My hip was badly bruised and it took me a long time to recover from that. I also noticed that the grooves on the slides stuck out, resulting in many guests being scratched on the way down. This lack of attention to safety and maintenance was very concerning.
Despite these issues, the decor at Wild Waves was presentable and the park had a fun atmosphere. However, the pricing of R200 per person seemed a bit high for the small size of the park and the limited number of rides offered. It would have been nice to see some new rides added to the park, as it seems to have remained largely unchanged since my childhood visits. Overall, my experience at Wild Waves was not enjoyable and I would not recommend it to others based on the poor service and...
Read moreThe water park is situated along the south coast inside the wild coast sun. Had a great weekend by spending the day here. This place is suitable for all age groups. There is an entertainment area for the kids whom are not allowed inside the casino. You need to come early to the water park to get parking and space. Visitors to the Wild Coast Sun can also be entertained at the Wild Waves Water Park, a family entertainment with slides suitable for all ages. They come in all shapes and sizes, (the aqua loop was out of order, that’s the sad part if you are a speedster)to the various speed slides- the tallest, fastest and steepest slides - and the lazy river which is equivalent to sitting in a tube and floating gently round a circuit. (Speaking about gently,my gentle husband decided to act silly and make us laugh mistakenly overturned the tube & there i was under water, wet like a chicken, was fun thou.)The Wild Coast Sun Resort is one of Southern Africa's oldest and most popular casino. There is a range of restaurants too, from the fast food variety and light meal bistros to more formal seafood restaurants. Was so exciting and a fun filled day. The kids were literally exhausted by the time we got...
Read moreThe atmosphere is great and makes for a fun filled day. There are plenty of places for your family to sit. The main pool is great because it's not too deep, if you can't swim like me you can still walk throughout the pool and have your head above water. There is also a kiddies pool in the main pool so families can be there together. The kids pool in the other side of the park is also great and exciting for the kids. The slides in this park is beyond amazing. I went on every single one! They are very safe and extremely thrilling to be on. The only downfall is that you aren't allowed to bring any food or drinks in, you have to buy from the vendor's in the park. That being said, the food from Spur was absolutely delicious! The lazy river was absolutely lovely, I really enjoyed going on it multiple times throughout the day! The management is also very prompt with safety as they provided an early warning of a nearby storm and got everyone off the slides in time before the storm reached the park. There are lifeguards everywhere to keep watch, and there is a first aid building in case of any injuries. I would definitely go back to...
