Steiltes nature reserve — Attraction in Mbombela

Two possible entrances to the reserve (one official, the other only if you are a local and know the area.) Both require a bit of steep hill climbing, so comfortable walking shoes will be a grate asset.

Route is well-marked and trees identified along the way.

Reported isolated incidents of crime in area, best enjoyed in a group.

This is a little hidden gem in Nelspruit. Not that well known and difficult to find the access unless you have a local knowledge. Various short walks take you through Lowveld Riverine forests. One (very poorly marked) takes you on a scramble up onto one of Nelspruit's iconic granite domes.

Unfortunately the rivers are badly effected...
