From the first day Wikus, my son, and I went to Boskoppies for the second time, (second because if you were there you will always want to return and never forget) we were treated so good with smiles and every person working there just wanted to help and never complained. If you want to go there, remember it is not a place for spoiled bratts that wants to be treated from their feet to their toes, it is a place where you can sit down and think and rest, become part of the big cats, and to feel the harmony between nature and animals and humans in a way that only people who really need to get away from cities, etc. will know. The best times for us were the meals that we ordered (my compliments to the chef) while listening to the roars of a lot of lions, that want you to stop what you are doing, and just listen to the king of the animals. The tigers and the leopards, lions, etc. are in great condition, and the cubs are adorable and safety always comes first. People who are tired and just want to rest and break away, I do really recommend Boskoppies. Thanks to the manager that helped us in everything, and the staff. Keep on with the great work that you all are doing....
Read moreI honestly question the ethical aspects of this reserve. I find breeding animals in captivity for tourism and entertainment truly heartbreaking. I believe they take good care of the wild cats, but I think it's more about the financial gain and not for giving these cats the quality of life they deserve. They are ment to hunt and be wild, not to be observed in enclosures by tourist wanting to update their social media page with pictures of baby tigers. I was part of a tour groups and I honestly just felt upset leaving boskoppie after seeing how people didn't find it...
Read moreThat's a very wild place. I've never had almost 100 lions around me, never. Of course they were in their camps but you know what, we were walking between the camps. At some stage I thought to myself, our lives are nothing to this creatures, they can have us for lunch and we won't be able to do anything. That wasvery nice, very adventurous to see different sizes of lions and how quick a lion grow. We were also with playful cubs which were very excited to spend time with us. They have also other 'cats' besides the lions as well. I really enjoyed myself together...
