Did a day trip from Durbs and got there within 2.5hrs. We did the waterfall hike - 4kms round trip, with my 60+ mum and 7 yo nephew. So it’s quite manageable for folk of all ages. The drive into kamberg is testing … the road outside Nottingham is littered with potholes. Then there’s the 18km gravel road in which can take up to 30mins. We did it in a front wheel drive sedan but would recommend a vehicle with higher clearance and all wheel drive; see pic with the water-logged areas which can trap a vehicle. The hike itself was stunning especially the waterfall and pools. The path was recently cleared which makes for easy walking.

There is something very special about Kamberg. It isn't the high berg and is in some way understated as a place. It had its own glory, often missed by seekers of high mountains. It is a short walk of about an hour and a half to the Bushman Paintings. Here you can bask in a time warp and reflect on the people who created this art so long ago. Will definitely visit...
