Paul was extraordinary! He planned our itinerary taking into account all of our specifications and requirements. When we ran into some issues, they were smoothed out within minutes… he was an absolute pro, friendly and helpful. He gave us excellent advice and guidance. We could never have planned a trip like this without Paul’s assistance. As newbies to the hiking world, we required a lot of assistance and had unlimited questions… Paul helped us through each of the issues that came up.
The hike along the coastlines and forests was absolutely gorgeous, peaceful and adventurous. With the only company being the guide, free roaming cows and birds.
Paul arranged our transfers and we were picked up from the airport and driven to the beautiful Wavecrest. We spent the day there/ exploring the area, walking along the coast and kayaking. The next day we were met by our porters and guide. The porters departed, taking a short cut, and we set out with our intelligent, informative and sensitive guide. We had a wonderful morning hiking to the river. Our guide kept us safe (chopping thorns and looking out for us) and also gave us excellent information that made our trip both meaningful and interesting. After crossing the river we were met by new porters and a new guide who led us to the next stop. At Seebreeze we were warmly greeted and the hosts made every minute of our stay wonderful. They helped us with all of our dietary requirements, going above and beyond expectations. The next morning we set out towards Morgan Bay. The porters and guides were timely and helpful. Morgan Bay is one of the most beautiful spots. We spent the evening and night until heading the next morning Haga haga. Another beautiful day of hiking through forest, cliffs, rocks, rivers and coastline. Truly one of the most magnificent experiences we had, all made possible by Paul. We would never have attempted to do something like this without his assistance and guidance. It was clear that all the service providers respected, trusted and enjoyed working with Paul.
I would definitely recommend the hike and using Paul and very much intend on coming back with my full...
Read moreWe had the privilege of hiking along the Wild Coast and it was a wonderful experience. Our group consisted out of three families, the youngest being 11 years old. This is a lovely hike to do as a family.
The terrain varies constantly and it keeps the trail interesting. The route is really scenic and one can take lots of photos. The teenagers enjoyed the freedom and collected the most beautiful sea shells. We started at 09h00 in the morning and we were not in a rush. We stopped frequently for water and snacks. We planned our walk according to the tides and therefor only had three river crossings. Walking time was always approximately 5 hours. The last hiking day consisted of a 12km walk from Crawfords to the lagoon at Yellowsands. We then rowed in canoes to Areena Resort, which was about 4km. We had lunch at Areena Resort and was then transferred to Inkwenkwezi Game Reserve. Inkwenkwezi was an adventure. The roads that leaded to our luxury tents, are not for the faint hearted.
Paul Colvin from SA Trails did a very good job with our arrangements. The accommodation, food, transfers, guides and correspondence were superb. We give you 10/10, Paul.
Paul booked an additional trip for us to Trennery’s. We went with Trevor on Trevor’s Trail. This was quite an adventure for the teenagers. Lunch afterwards at Trennery’s was excellent. Paul also organised a river cruise for us on the Kei River with the Fish Eagle. We packed our own wine and snacks. This was a lovely, relaxing experience.
We felt that the price per person was reasonable and affordable. The price was all inclusive and we had a budget for our dinners in the evening. The amount was more than enough. We could enjoy cocktails as well as desserts with each dinner.
This was an experience that our three families will cherish for ever.

Read moreThe trail from Morgan Bay to Cintza was really beautiful. Out first night was at the Morgan Bay Hotel which is really gorgeous. The rooms are great and the hotel has just been revamped. The food was delicious and the staff very helpful and efficient. The beach and surrounds at Morgan Bay are stunning. The first stretch is from Morgan Bay to Haga Haga approximately 15km. this stretch is not difficult at all and the landscape it very beautiful - rolling hills, rocky shores and beaches. The crossing at Double mouth River is really exquisite. Our second night was spent at Haga Haga Hotel which was pleasant. Day 2 of our hike was also very picturesque. 16km from Haga Haga to Cintza - the first half was predominently on Rocky coastline and the last 8km along the most beautiful beach. Our last night was spent at inkwenkwezi game lodge which was a really great way to end our hike. this is a private game reserve that offered an informative game drive as part of the package. All in All we had an amazing 4 days so if you are looking for a leisurely hike and have a limited amount of time available to you I would...
