Sunrise Beach — Attraction in Muizenberg

I attended my granddaughter’s school beach clean and surf walk. It was a long time since I have been on this beach and the directions was on point. Parking was hidden from the turn in at the circle. There was ample parking. It was raining that morning and the beach was not that dirty. The kids could clean up from amongst the kelp and pick up items that could harm the ocean and environment. There were a lot of seal carcasses on the beach. A suggestion is to maybe put up a board for public to report this on the beach. I suppose sunrise would have been nice from this beach as there is an unobstructed view to the horizon. Not sure about safety on the beach if one is alone or small group. It’s very open and...

Even on angry winter days, this is lovely beach to take a walk and feel close to nature.

You can walk west toward Muizenberg's Surfer's Corner or East toward Strandfontein.

In terms of facilities, there are toilets available, but they could be a cleaner, and there is also a life saving club situated, though probably not in the off season.

On Sundays and public holidays, there is a flea market in operation and there is also a band to entertain visitors on those days.

In summer, the wind can be strong and that is ideal for the wind and kite surfers.
