We visited the main gate which I understand is Skilpad gate, picnic spot, 2 walks that take you through the flowers and a circular drive. Flowers were beautiful!! From the turnoff off the N7 it is 25km of gravel road which is in pretty nasty condition to Skilpad gate.

Unfortunately to get to the coastal area of the park to the seal colony and the camp area it is quite a long drive of gravel and a 4x4 is required to do this. We were advised not to take this road and instead exit the park and use the N7 to get to the south of the park which we did. We exited through groenrivier gate.

PS. There are plenty beautiful flowers on the gravel roads leading to the park, try the hondeklipbaai road near Garies, it is a decent gravel road and beautiful. It will take you right till...

What a special place. I can highly recommend it for the camper who wants to get off the grid and get away from people...just beaches and sandy tracks. I just loved driving next to the sea exploring all the private little coves. This park will hone your sand driving skills...i just loved it. The further you go into the park the more isolated you will be and the chances of you camping alone are nearly guaranteed. There are basic toilets at campsites that are really well built and not smelly at all and are kept clean...excellent job San Parks! There are also these low stone walls to deflect wind that are actually pleasing to the eye. You will have to bring in everything from water to wood although Hondeklipbaai is not too far for...

What a beautiful area! We were off season, after the flower time. But we loved it!! The coastline, the challenging deep sand tracks and the cape fur seals.

But mostly we were so impressed by the helpfull staff. When we entered the park we were received very kindly at the reception. With great tips about campsites (the weather was a bit rough) and the off road driving.

The morning that we left the battery of our vehicle was death so the engine would not start. Thank god we were only a kilometer away from the reception so we could walk up there easily. Immediately the same lady as the day before arranged help and her colleague fixed the problem. We were impressed and grateful for the quick...

Pristine and mostly untouched Cape fijnbos. Worth seeing even when the flours are not in bloom. Note that the quality of the roads vary greatly. A 4x4 with the tyre pressure dropped to 1.2 bar is highly recommended at the moment. A very large part of the roads have deep soft sand, and the use of normal vehicles or 4x4s without reduced tyre pressure both worsens the quality of the roads and pretty much guarantees getting stuck. The staff are super friendly and helpful, and more than willing to help you reduce and get your tyre pressure back to normal.

Beautiful place during the flowering season. Recommended stay inside, otherwise stay in Springbok and then drive to Namaqua (64kms). Route details: turn from *Kamieskroon* to reach the exact spot for flower camp, drivable via normal vehicle, DO NOT TAKE THE SOEBASFONTAIN route unless you have a 4x4 (some patches of dirt road are washed out completely & the cement road after that has 7+ bumps that'll hit under your car). Dirt road alongside N7 from Kamieskroon will straight lead you inside the nature reserve.
