Kambaku is a truly amazing course - well kept, beautiful crocodile river views, really friendly ground staff & waitresses and Marios was THE best spotter we’ve ever had! What ruined it for us is the locals. They had a lot to say about their “strict rules” in relation to what my wife and daughter were wearing (note: we regularly play many courses in Durbs and had played 4 other top courses in Pretoria and Limpopo this holiday without issue). To be clear, we have no problem with rules, except, after going out of their way to make both a performance and eventually “make an exception” via the “ladies captain and committee members” these same ladies then proceeded to play as a 5 ball for 9 holes, holding up the entire field & seemed to make a point of their slow play in front of us. Seems the rules don’t apply equally strictly to all. Sadly in our experience, visitors are not made to feel welcome at this course… For a smallish golf course that could likely do with outside income, their committee should consider how to make visitors feel more excited to come back. Hopefully our experience...
Read moreWaiter was exceptional, manager and kitchen staff is an embarrassment to Kambaku. Permanent staff got preference over temp staff, lack of communication and interest from manager to ensure the restaurant and customer's receive the level of service they pay for. We arrived 13h00 yesterday and 15h20 kitchen staff never started with our order.
Manager never apologised or came back to explain anything. Definitely not the way to handle for service that was non-existence from the relevant parties. Would recommend you change your management staff or change your approach on customers as the poor service we received is not the first time. Your temp staff that are students can handle customers in the professional manner while the experienced staff laughed and thought your manager is a joke.
Been a loyal customer but due to the lack of interest and service from the manager will ensure that we no longer support your restaurant. Absolutely disgusted!
Such a shame to say the least that we won't recommend you restaurant and golf...
Read moreWe recently visited Kambaku Golf Club, which we have frequented often when visiting Marloth Park and enjoy their milkshakes. However, this time we encountered a surprising change: a daily visitor entry fee of R20 per adult. While we understand the need for facilities to maintain their premises, we were taken aback by this new charge, especially since we've visited multiple times before without any entry fee. It dampened our experience a bit, as we were not expecting an additional cost on top of what we were planning to enjoy. That said, the milkshakes were, as always, delightful and worth a try if you haven't had one yet! The atmosphere remains inviting, and the staff is friendly, which keeps us coming back. We hope that management considers these feedback points, as transparency about such charges could improve the overall experience for future visitors. We’ll certainly return, but hopefully, we won't be surprised by any other unexpected fees next time!
Overall, a mixed experience but still a lovely place...
