🌸🪻🪷🌺🌿Stepping into the heavenly embrace of Fernkloof Nature Reserve. Shaded pathways, medicinal plants, aloe gardens, proteas high overhead and mountains looming above...are just some of the wonders you will find here. And, tortoises, lots of tortoise which had Wolfie very curious (see pic, and spot the 2 🐢 of which he only saw 1 😁🤦🏻♀️).
🐕🦺Although abundant in flora and forna (including small buck), Fernkloof Nature Reserve & Gardens are dog friendly! But make sure your dog is firmly on lead; and it goes without saying that you must clean up after your furkid(s), but note that there is a sign on entry stating that there are no bins on the premises, and to take your rubbish with you...which keeps the Reserve clean...smart.
What a wonderful experience, to be repeated over and over. A piece of heaven on earth 😍

Read moreThere are several hiking trails available at the Fernkloof Nature Reserve with the route to the Assegaaibos waterfall being the most popular and arguably the most beautiful. The route is fairly easy and as the vegetation changes from small fynbos to being surrounded by the forest. At the waterfall you just can't help but be mesmerized by the natural beauty. After reaching the waterfall, which was in full force after the recent rains, we decided to take the Lemoenkop route which gave us a great view of Hermanus.
