Meropa Casino & Entertainment World — Attraction in Polokwane Local Municipality

Yes, I have been to this place several times. I have been there both on a personal basis and on business. Meropa is located about 4kms from the City of Polokwane.The venue is divided into an entertainment area for Adults, entertainment area for kids, a restaurant, bar, conference facilities, a Hotel and a lodge. The venue is friendly for people with disabilities and can be easily accessible from either the N1 highway or or R101. Meropa Casino and Entertainment World is less +-15 kms from Polokwane international Airport.

My personal experience? Uhmm, yes, the conference facilities where convenient with all the amenities that are needed to run a meeting or a conference. The working personnel were friendly and very helpful and the security personnel were also strict when it come to enforcing hotel rules for the safety of the visitors. They have a main control gate at the entrance, then a body search counter, followed by roaming guards. I felt free and secure inside the premises and we never experienced any major hiccups during business events. I also have been there with family and with friends. The experience was no different, the venue has always been welcoming for me. The only hiccup was on the restaurant side. They were too slow to process the orders, it seems as if it is a norm as it happened more than twice that my orders took long to be processed. I take it that it was because there were many people at the restaurant all the times that I visited. And look, when you are in a place like meropa, you are in most of the time not in a rush to go to anywhere and there food is good. So, this won't affect my scoring.

The Adults will be entertained at Jembe, where they normally have live performances as well as the Casino. Kids have their own entertainment area with special kiddies games.

We had group booking and conference at Meropa Hotel and we received the worst service from a woman called Chantel who the receptionist at Town Lodge. When we first approached her she had this rude and unwelcoming facial expression. We had difficulties with our bookings and she just had no time to assist us with the issue. With a rude face, she just told us to go back to the other reception area of the hotel, took out her phone went on WhatsApp, started smiling with her phone and left us at the reception area. When she finally came out of the room she had entered, we told her that we tired, our bags are heavy and we don't want to be going up and down. Can't she communicate with the other receptionist area to confirm if we are really booked on that side so we don't have to be send back and forth. She told us to just go to the other side. After resting we went to the other reception area just to be send back to her. While she was booking us in she still had that unwelcoming rude expression. When she was done she just threw the ID and Hotel card on the desk without telling us which side our rooms are. I had to ask one of the security as he was more approachable. All the people from my group who booked in at Town lodge all complained about Chantel. And I mean all of them and none of us approached her in a rude manner. Her rudeness was totally uncalled for. She needs to understand that she's working with people and needs to put on a friendly face when dealing with customers and be of assistance when customers are experiencing issues with booking. She needs to understand that as a receptionist she's the face of the hotel and mostly likely the first person customers talk to when they arrive. She must just work on...

I had to attend an early me funeral in town.Due to my age I thought I should overnight at Meropa Casino and Entertainment World.Under normal circumstances I would have opted for amy of the other Bed and Breakfast Accomodations in and around town.Having stayed at Meropa more than twenty times in the past two years and knowing what they had to offer at half their normal price,this was the obvious place to go to.They have free Wi Fi for guests and the place is quite except last night when i had two Venda speaking guys who were having a loud conversation i could literally hear all they were saying.

I know i shouldn't be eating Buffalo Wings for obvious reasons ,it is impossible to ignore the Wings and Potato Chips of Meropa,the taste is just out of this world. If the SASSA beneficiaries are jamming the ATMs in town please consider using the ones at Meropa.Now a then my friends make it big on the Slot Machines then the hit me with a thousand or two.The last thing i must commend this place for is vehicle safety,evey 20 minutes or so a Security Officer takes a stroll amongst the vehicle to see if there isn't anything...
