This is a wonderful National park to visit with good facilities. We stayed at the "Haak en Steek" cottage which can accommodate four people and is a stand alone house with your privacy quaranteed by means of a locked boom entrance. There is a waterhole close to the house and we saw quite a variety of wild animals visiting the waterhole. We saw rhinos three evenings out of the four we stayed there. Also saw many giraffes, zebras springbok, gemsbok, impala, Cape Vervet Monkeys, baboons, red hartebeest, blue wildebeest, warthogs, kudu, eland, grey duiker, Cape Grey Mongoose, etc. The animal we unfortunately did not see was the buffalo.

It us defintely worth your while to visit the Stofdam Bird Hide to observe the birdlife as well as animals which visit the waterhole.

Restaurant facilities at the two main camps were unfortunately a bit if a disapointment as only the one at Mosu was open. The one at Lilydale was closed.

If you are interested in the history of the park and folklore of the San and other people originally from this area, it will be worth your while to also pay a visit to the Mokala...

What a gem we've discovered! We were referred by a friend and can't thank her enough... We thoroughly enjoyed each moment of our comfortable stay at Mosu Lodge and our extremely rewarding game drive at Mokala National Park. Our unit was situated close to the water hole and we could sit and watch game coming to drink water - until late. The unit was a comfortable, well-equipped and an impeccable home-away-from-home. Animals are plenty - and the variety impressive. The staff excelled and we need to mention the most accommodating Receptionist - if I recall correctly, her name is Emma. She was just so helpful - even provided us with an power extension to keep our fridge running in our vehicle. Parking at reception and having to use miniature trolley's/trailers to transport luggage to the units, were new to us :-) At least we had some exercise! The only 'draw-back' would be the bad condition of the corrugated road one has to travel - but the superb destination justifies the drive. We will most definitely be back to this very, very...

We slept over for two nights at the Motswedi Camping site at the Mokala game reserve. At the entrance gate close to Mosu reception office we were met by two very friendly and helpful people. At the Mosu reception desk we were also treated by very friendly and helpful staff. We were really enthralled by the warm and friendly people. At Motswedi camping site, we were just as surprised by the cleanliness and the layout of the campsite and the private ablutions. It was very clean - although a bit run down, everything was spotless and in very good working order - from the fridge and two plate gas cooking plates to the shower and toilet. We have warm water the whole period of our stay - which is provide by individual solar geysers. The game viewing was outstanding. A wide variety of game species were roaming along the roads. I can really recommend this game reserve and camping site.
