Having not been to the Bellevue Wine Estate for a while, my wife and I decided to give them a visit as we were looking for a farm that produces a 100% Malbec, which they do. The entrance to the wine tasting center was beautiful and modern. There is some seating in the tasting room, however we were guided through the door to the restaurant as it seems that they do tastings there in the winter months when the restaurant is closed - the restaurant was still closed when we went (October). The space is quite large and wasn't really decorated (it has big glass stacking doors so you have a view of the outside area), and we were the only guests at that time, so there was no atmosphere really. The wine on the other hand was the winner for us. They have 3 tastings - a premium, ultra-premium and a gin tasting. As the Malbec was part of the premium tasting we chose this option which allows you to select any 5 wines to try in that category. Overall all the wines were tasty and I can also highly recommend their Pinotage. The waiter that did our tasting was friendly and knowledgeable, but I recommend they make their tasting portions a little bit bigger as the portions we received were very small. The wines at Bellevue were the reason we visited and I will definitely visit again when I need to...
Read moreWe visited Bellevue today (a Wednesday afternoon) and had the entire place to ourselves. My husband did the mixed tasting and Calvyn (who assisted us) was incredibly knowledgeable and explained the origins and production process for each wine in great depth. I had the hot chocolate bomb and was quite disappointed as, it did not burst open and as we waited for the supposed explosion, my hot chocolate became cold chocolate. For the price, I expected a “wow factor” but it was rather underwhelming. The cheese board did however exceed my expectation as it included freshly baked, warm bread as well as, a variety of cheeses, fruit, olives, marmalade, crackers etc. I do however wish it was timed better to arrive with our drinks as we inquired when my husband was tasting his third wine and they then rushed it for us. We were unable to try their nachos and pizza as, these are only served from Thursdays onward so, I look forward to returning to give these a try. Overall it was great for a quiet, relaxing...

Just wanted something to drink, like a cooldrink and make a reservation for coming Friday. Were seated at 16:05, without someone welcoming us. Lots of people still sitting at tables. Manager came over an inform us, that they are closed, I mention to him the time on google, he said we close a hour before that. We then informed him that we would like to make a reservation for 10 people for breakfast, he again told us they do not do breakfast in the week and that we should rather try, Kunjani wines.
Not great, when to Hazendal and had...
