Oldest Pinotage Vineyard in the world. Their Top of the Hill is divine. Great selection of other varieties. We just dropped in when they opened at 1000 and were welcomed with open arms. Loved their wines and had a great conversation with the cellar manager who shared her knowledge of the vineyard and their wines even though it “Crush” time and very busy time of the year for the winery.

De Waal Wines is a gem in Stellenbosch! The hospitality was incredible, and the owner’s passion and knowledge made the tasting unforgettable. We loved learning about the history behind their wines – especially the oldest Pinotage in South Africa. A must-visit for anyone who values authentic, personal wine experiences. Highly recommend! Great first real try of Pinotage. Our host was so friendly and very knowledgeable. Star off for lack of some type of even simple food pairing or water to help rebalance tastes and change Out our glasses between tastes. Still recommend a visit Also two bottle deals are nice incentive to get another version of their great pinotage.
