✨ An Inspirational Adventure for Entrepreneurs!
Hey there, dream chasers!
This past Sunday, we set off on an adventure with our Bike, inspired by a feature we saw on KykNet, “Hannes Aan Huis”, about the enchanting Klein Goederust Wine Farm. As we arrived, we had to pause at the beautiful entrance, where a lovely brick-paved road lined by picturesque vineyards and blossoming roses greeted us. It felt like the universe was welcoming us as we rode up. The excitement was tangible, we could sense, the experience that Hannes shared with Paul, the Owner, on the programme, and his Life Friend, who joined him on this Journey.
Upon entering, we were greeted by a one of the friendly ladies who asked if we were joining for lunch. We told her we just wanted to explore. She kindly pointed us in the right direction, inviting us to indulge in a meal if we changed our minds.
Stepping into the Wine-Tasting Hall was truly overwhelming! Exquisite Klein Goederust wines lined a beautifully “welcoming set” with a long wooden table, and a warm “Wine Professional" Gentleman, welcomed us, with his friendly smile, encouraging us to explore the grounds and soak in the breathtaking scenery. He shared Klein Goederust’s precious memory with us. Showing to a stunning portrait on the wall of Nomaroma, holding her very own wine bottle for the first time—a magical moment captured forever. This photograph, a heartfelt gift from her son, Paul, served as a tribute to his beloved Mom, who instilled in him the belief that life would take him to the places she believed in. Follow Klein Goederust’s Story, then you will also know “what we know”!
The touching story behind that cherished label has beautifully etched Nomaroma's memory into the heritage of Klein Goederust for generations to come. It was an honour and a privilege to witness this special moment.
As we made our way to the restaurant, we were greeted with the delicious aroma of meats sizzling on the spit, a feast fit for any palate! The ambiance was alive under the sprawling trees, with cheerful guests relishing the moment. Friendly staff ushered us inside, to see more, showcasing a setting filled with warmth and style.
Our "tummy's" were tempted, but we had already snacked before the trip to Franschhoek and knew we couldn’t do justice to the amazing buffet. (Which we did not expect). As we prepared to leave, we had the honour of meeting Wife of Pauls childhood friend. She too, grew up with them all on Backs Berg Wine Farm. She shared stories about their journey with Paul and his Mom, and it was clear that the level of achievement they reached was a dream turned reality. By the time we left, it felt like we were “Family too”. Listening to and experiencing the journey of those at Klein Goederust truly captured our hearts and filled us with admiration. It’s inspiring to see what can be accomplished when you pour your whole soul and being into achieving your dreams!
There's a saying: “laat jou drome oor n hek klouter en in n veld verdwaal…..” This is precisely what Klein Goederust embodies! Paul, your team’s commitment to building this dream is nothing short of inspiring!
We will undoubtedly return to enjoy a magnificent meal that we know awaits. To cap off our visit, we had a brief but memorable moment to shake hands with Paul. Talk about a highlight! Dankie Paul dat jy die tyd geneem het om ons te kom groet.
So, to all entrepreneurs out there, never give up—pursue your dreams with passion, because the journey can lead to extraordinary places. Keep pushing forward, and remember, your dreams are worth every effort!
Shalom! We’re cheering you on as you grow your dreams alongside your...
Read moreOur group was doing the Wine Tram route this past weekend and one of the stops was Klein Goedrust Boutique Winery. Upon our arrival, we were introduced to the estate with the fact that this is the first 100% black-owned estate in the region. This bothered me as I would have thought that the quality and range of products would be the selling point, rather than who owns the place. Little did we know of the next hit: wine tasting at a very eye-watering and over-the-top R200 per person!!
I wanted to leave immediately, but the group insisted that we stay seeing that our transport was not ready yet. Thoroughly disgusted, I opted to get a bottle of 2021 Chenin Blanc. This was so far the only consolation to the disappointment we had to endure thus far and to be quite honest, Mandla acquitted himself exceptionally well, being very courteous and well-informed. The wine was good.
Unfortunately, the experience has put a terrible damper on our very high spirits and left a bitter taste in our mouths. I am extremely disappointed with the way this has turned out and will not be recommending your estate to anyone in the future.
A word of advice: don’t use politics to sell your product when the wine was very...
Read moreMy wife and I stumbled upon the Klein Giederust wine farm by pure chance, and it turned out to be a serendipitous discovery that made for an unforgettable weekend. The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the weekend spit braai, which left our taste buds in awe. The succulent, tender meats, expertly seasoned and cooked to perfection, were a carnivore's dream come true. The friendly staff and the communal atmosphere made it feel like a true South African experience. It was a delightful surprise and set the tone for the day.
To complement the heavenly wine and hearty braai, the cheese board at Klein Giederust was nothing short of spectacular. It was a platter of pure indulgence. Each bite was a flavor explosion that paired beautifully with their excellent wines. The picturesque surroundings, the warm hospitality, and the delectable offerings truly made it an amazing day, and we left with memories that will last a lifetime. Klein Giederust is a hidden gem that we now hold close to our hearts, and we can't wait to return for another...
