Oldenburg Winery is truly a hidden gem that offers an exceptional wine experience. From the moment you arrive, the breathtaking views of the surrounding vineyards and mountains set the stage for a memorable visit.

The wines at Oldenburg are nothing short of spectacular. Each sip reveals a perfect balance of flavors, showcasing the meticulous craftsmanship that goes into every bottle. Whether you prefer their rich reds or crisp whites, the quality is consistently impressive. The tasting experience is thoughtfully curated, allowing you to savor the unique characteristics of each wine while learning about the vineyard’s philosophy and winemaking process.

What truly elevates the experience at Oldenburg is the outstanding service. Jaun-Pierre our sommelier was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about their wines, making us feel welcomed and valued. He was eager to share insights and recommendations, enhancing our understanding and appreciation of the wines.

In summary, Oldenburg Winery is a must-visit destination for any wine lover. With exceptional wines and unparalleled service, it promises an unforgettable experience that will leave you wanting to return...

Today’s visit to Oldenburg was simply next level! From the tasting to the sommelier, and of course, those incredible views—it was all absolutely outstanding. 🌄

We opted for the 8 Elements Tasting and had the pleasure of being guided by our incredibly knowledgeable sommelier, Petronella (or just P 😉). Every single wine was absolutely incredible, but the standouts for me were the Cab Franc and, surprisingly, the Chardonnay. We don’t usually prefer Chardonnay, but this one is in a league of its own—next level for sure! 🏆

We even got a sneaky taste of the 2012 Syrah, which was pouring perfectly after 12 years! 🍇

I have to get back to Oldenburg in the summer because I can only imagine how gorgeous this place will be. Cannot wait! 😍 Highly recommended, but make sure you give yourself plenty of extra time to savor the full tasting...

Oldenburg was one of the top farms on my recommendation list. However, recently they have had a price increase which I feel is completely unreasonable. The entry level tasting for their CL range is now R160 per tasting. A bottle costs R155 (cheaper when not buying from the farm). This means that if you are two people, you can each buy a bottle of CL (one red, one white) and it would be CHEAPER than the 50ml of wine to taste. This is quite shocking. Just over a year ago the prices were 50% lower at least. Oldenburg is great; their wines are spectacular, but there are farms that treat their customers more fairly that I would have to recommend above them. Consider the tasting prices before going. Entry: 160 (2 wines). Mid 250 (7 wines). Not sure about the...

Wow. Incredible. Unreal. Honestly the best tasting experience my wife and I have ever experienced and we've been to over 100 wineries/tasting rooms all over the world. This is head and shoulders above the rest. Why? Every wine we tasted was exceptional. Like seriously bloody good. The setting was like Freda (our incredible sommelier) put it, a green screen, the view is that good, it's looks fake. Then on to Freda, wow, simply the best! We were blown away by her passion, her knowledge and her service. We arrived as clients and after 3 and half hours, we left as friends. This is truly a special place! We highly recommend! We love your work Freda, we hope to see you in New Zealand one day!

Hands down, the best winery in the area. Allow me to explain why. The tasting room is intimate with just a few tables, offering exceptional views. Sommelier Jean Paul goes above and beyond to engage in conversations about wine (and life in general). The wines are superb, with my personal favorite being the 100% Cabernet Franc. When we asked for a behind-the-scenes tour, Jurgen, the winemaker, personally escorted us, sharing his passion and giving us a sneak peek at this year’s vintage (spoiler alert: it’s on par with the 2015 level). Spending time with him was both enjoyable and enriching. Don’t hesitate; put this winery at the top of your list when you visit. You won’t regret it.
