It was the first time we went there, we wanted to have breakfast at Hudson's, The options were limited to ordering breakfast , don't expect a full breakfast more like sandwiches with chips. I opted for the chicken sandwich & my hubby changed his roosterkoek for the burger of the day , rib burger. We decided to go see the BIG CATS πŸ…πŸ†πŸ¦ it was fantastic, they were so beautiful , especially Luna the White Lioness , absolutely Gorgeous 😍 the guide that explained everything was very informative & helpful in answering questions & we got to experience him feeding them. After that we took a walk around the wine estate & decided to do some wine tasting 🍾πŸ₯‚ & ordered a cheese platter. The Chardonnay from the premium wines was great, we ended up buying a bottle to take home, I didn't really enjoy any of the other white wines. And the cheese platter could have been more aesthetically pleasing & the bread please don't put that on there again , it was extremely chewy, very disappointing πŸ˜•. The wine estate is absolutely beautiful 😍 extremely well maintained , the gardens looked fantastic, so tranquil & peaceful. I will definitely be going back , hoping to do a picnic but I also hope they make the food more appealing & tasty...

Paid R120 for the combo ticket, during peak season (visited on 27 Dec 2021) saw lots of typical farm animals such as chickens, ducks, pigs and goats, as well as some more exotic ones like llamas, a peacock and a peahen.

Lovely place, they have a big cat sanctuary which boasts white bengal tigers as well as a petting zoo. Which I was amazed to see up close even before feeding time. (At 11:00 and 15:00 daily)

Just near the animal farm on the Vredenheim estate I tried the ice lolly from De Boer port and tasting shop, made with fresh fruit, mango strawberry it was delicious. They even had a child size Teddy bear seated at a few of the tables to give my solitary self some company.

Just next to De Boer's there was a bar area and in gin section there were some vintage cars on display. There were other antique car paraphernalia as well, which can't help but make one feel a bit nostalgic.

Overall lots to do and lots to see and I hadn't even done half of what was on offer at Vredenheim. It is definitely one of the places that stand out as I begin to tour the...

Amazing place. Also fabulous for families with kids. We enjoyed a wine pairing experience at the tasting area/restaurant for lunch, purchased some wine and then headed to the tour area to check out the big cats. Beautiful estate to walk through, lots of animals in the petting area for kids to see and feed, large play area with a venue you can rent for private events. There is also a spa on the premises which I would definitely like to try out sometime.

The big cats feeding tour was my favorite, the cats appear very happy and well taken care of and the lovely caretaker giving the tour is clearly very dedicated to these beautiful cats and their well being. She explained where each cat was rescued from and all the interesting facts about them. She was also very warm and welcoming to any questions we had. It is so heartwarming to know that there is an initiative like this taking care of these precious animals and I will happily return with as many friends as possible to help...
