Darling is one of the most beautiful friendliest place to visit on the planet. With great sights, best restaurants & brewery you can find. It is amazing that this hidden gem is not all over the news.

I especially loved the Darling Museum as it offers a step back in time when things were a little simpler than today but hard living for sure with no luxury as we have it today.

The chills I get when I walk through the old meromelia that was left behind that speaks a 1000 words in one picture. The simple oar of the craftsmanship that is seen with hand made tools. It will just blow your mind being there.

A special thanks to the lady at the front desk and to all the people from Darling. Darling Brew, CafΓ© Mosaic & Nina's Place The Old Forge, which has a tremendous amount of old goodies to see. It is really wonderful being there.

Well, more on great places and restaurants to follow. If you want to explore with me and see new recipes, Bnb, Hotels or just get away places Follow me on Facebook. FOODY HOT SPOTS & NOTS. For great crafts and ideas follow my Wife Brucheen on Facebook. Brucheens Crafts and Cafe. GOD...

When my kids asked me if I grew up also doing my own butter like that? Wearing those clothes - what even is this? I knew mission was accplished. The set up of the museum lends itself to easy engagement with the history on display. Whilst we planned a quick in and out we spent almost an hour. My kids are young adults and so I assumed many things on their knowledge and what they knew. Wrong assumption! The coal fire iron was a mystery I had to explain how we used it 🀭 - their clothes would never be ironed was their conclusion it was too much effort πŸ‘€πŸ™„πŸ€£ What a beautiful start to the Day in Darling it was. So inspired they were by our history at the Musuem we went to Robben Island last weekend and next stop is the District Six. I recommend a stop at this museum. Thanks...

Simply loved this museum, it had artefacts, pictures, videos, the actual stuff that you can pick up or see from way back and I mean way back, my hubby got so excited because some of the stuff he could remember as a child that thing being in the kitchen and what his mum or granny used it for or items that was seen in everybody's bathroom or bedroom no matter rich or poor it was the norm to have certain things, the kids were so fascinated with the different type of phones available at that time like the nommer asseblief oneπŸ˜‚ it was a pity we couldn't take any pics, but a revisit is a must, thanks for...

Decided to stop at this little town on our way back from langebaan, we visited the museum and participated in a little mystery trail . This was by far one of the best activities that we have done at a museum. We learnt a lot about the towns history and also got to tour the entire town on foot in less than 3 hours . Part of the trail took us to some of the towns tourist attractions like the darling winery were we purchased some delicious wine and gin . At the end of our trail we received a box of delicious darling candy . Well worth the trip .

Do pay a visit to the Darling Museum! It also doubles as the Hello Darling Tourism Bureau. It has beautiful displays of the town of Darling and the history of its different communities. The displays will take you through drawing rooms, bedrooms, saloons, bakeries and more. On your way out, you can spend a few Rand on beautiful old crockery and cutlery and other interesting trinkets. Proceeds go towards the upkeep of the museum.
