In the embrace of Yzerfontein Beach, Logan and I found our sanctuary. Amidst our travels, this pristine shore offered more than a pause—it was a deep breath of nature. The locals' welcoming spirit mirrored the beach’s pristine beauty, each sunset a divine brushstroke across the evening sky. These moments were more than picturesque; they were reminders of hope, inspiration, and the profound peace found in life’s simplicity. The cool waters soon became familiar, and the joyous scenes of surfers, families, and laughter were affirmations that all was indeed well. Yzerfontein gifted us not just a recharge, but a timeless treasure for the soul.

This is an incredibly beautiful and pristine, fine sandy beach that hardly has anyone enjoying is endless coastline; which I believe is in excess of 10km long! One great example of an amazing gem of South Africa's beauty... hidden in plain sight. It is virtually empty - please see photos attached. This is exactly where to go for a beach holiday if you want to avoid the crowds. It is patently clear that the residents live in a virtually crime free environment - when you get there you will quickly understand what I mean. Your safety on the beach is pretty much a foregone conclusion - 5 star recommendation!

Yet another gem in the Western Cape, about an hours drive from Cape Town or Malmesbury. This beach was not over crowded when we were there and was clean and we really could enjoy the day with our dogs. There is quite a bit of parking and one does not have to walk far to get onto the beach. There are also shops and restaurants close by with real good food.

Here you can relax and freely let your children enjoy the beach. It is fairly safe, but naturally you still need to watch the young one's. A good time is early morning until 11:00 am and then you visit some of the local Cafés or restaurant like Lula's or Beaches. Have a great lunch or one of Lula's famous hamburgers,(freshly made) for a gourmet experience. Then at about 15:30 you can return to the beach for the afternoon and...
