Fort Nottingham Museum — Attraction in uMgeni Local Municipality

My experience at the Highland Gathering in Fort Nottingham was absolutely incredible! From the moment I arrived, I was swept away by the vibrant celebration of Scottish culture and traditions.

The atmosphere was electric, with the skirl of bagpipes filling the air and the exciting Highland games captivating everyone's attention. Witnessing the traditional competitions and displays of strength was a true spectacle.

The event truly captured the essence of Scotland, from the tartan-clad attendees to the authentic food and music. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with my own Scottish heritage and learn more about the rich history behind it.

The organizers did a fantastic job creating a welcoming and engaging environment. I was impressed by the attention to detail and the dedication to preserving the traditions that make the Highland Gathering so special.

Overall, my day at the Highland Gathering in Fort Nottingham was unforgettable. I left with a greater sense of pride in my Scottish roots and a heart full of cherished memories. I can't wait to attend again next year and continue to celebrate this incredible event.

An interesting place if you’re keen on history. It’s a bit run down but that’s probably due to a lack of funding for maintenance. The place is run voluntarily from what I understood with a chat with the friendly gentleman at the info room. The ancient artifacts takes one back in time. There is a play area for kids but I’m not too sure often...
