I have been going to the MidMar Mile every year for the past 14 years. Each year I book a campsite so that I can enjoy the whole weekend away.

Every single year, the following is true: Booking is convenient and Friendly. Campsites are affordable. Checkin is convenient. Staff is 10/10 (I have never encountered a place that provides such CONSISTENTLY impressive staff) Campsites are clean. Refuse servicing during the stay is regular. Water is beautiful. Surroundings are beautiful.

I only have 1 negative thing to report, which is unfortunately a VERY BIG THING when it comes to camping. The bathrooms are not cleaned regularly enough. There are a lot of miggies and bugs at MidMar in February. By late afternoon, the dead bugs in the bathroom become overwhelming. By the following morning, the smell is so bad that I'd honestly rather just go rinse off in the dam.

They honestly do try. They have signs up asking guests to turn off the lights and keep the doors closed. They do clean and restock the bathrooms every day. I think that it would help if they cleaned the bathrooms as the sun comes up and a few hours before it goes down. Minimum. Ideal would be if there was a staff member responsible solely for keeping 2 or 3 ablution blocks clean throughout the day. But.... I do understand budget...

Just had the worst weekend at Midmar resort. We've been going there for 12 yr to swim and be part of the Midmar Mile and over the years we've watch the decline in the resort. 2019 broke the camels back. We had no running water nor flushing toilets in any of the campsites for most of the weekend. Management basically ignored complaints made until very lat on Sat evening. and in All honesty they should consider refunding the campers form Morgenson D block in full. The Ablution in D block had been vandalised badly yet they allowed us to camp there and expected us to use C block ablution which were also not operational. The health risk of having thousands of people camping over the Midmar weekend is just to high a risk. Ezimvelo KZN need to reassess and review how they can rescue the resort for total destruction. 2020 Im very much doubt they will come close to having full campsite as 2019 the people were very upset and are seeking alternatives in the area for 2020. Midmar Mile organisers need to put pressure on resort management to ensure the facilities are up to standard or they'll lose out on race entrants which will ultimately kill the...

On arrival on Saturday 5 March 2015 at Midmar reception, I was informed that my booking was cancelled. I submit my proof of the quotation send to me from head office, my proof of payment via EFT, and the email I send to confirm the payment. Nobody ever came back with a cancelled booking. On presenting these documentation, the receptionist was very rude and had a tone of voice that "it was nor her" that cancelled the booking. She has no people skills, she could rather try resolve the issue, but the way she spoke and had a attitude with me, was UNACCEPTABLE. SHE MADE ME FEEL AS IF IT WAS ME THAT WAS IN THE WRONG!!! I told her that she had no people skills, she was very unfriendly. the RECEPTION STAFF even confirmed that the unit that I paid for, was not in use, but I had to come back at 14h00 to get the key.... I traveled from Bloemfontein since 02h00 the morning to get there for the triathlon the next morning..... my family and I had to wait from 09h00 the morning till 13H30 to get the key. THIS IS THE WORST BOOKING I HAVE EVER COME ACROSS... THEY ARE UNFRIENDLY, AND PLAIN RUDE, GUESTS SHOULD MAKE SURE THAT YOUR BOOKINGS ARE...

Many of the sites need a lot of attention and care such as braai areas and overgrown bushes but otherwise an amazing venue to visit for the day or camp with family of all ages as bathrooms and showers are available as well as braai areas and bins at each zone. Beautiful views and trails for mountain biking, running, walking and driving as well as gorgeous open plans of land to play soccer / sports with the kids ... Our most recent visit was definitely better - Sites gardens have been cut and looked after - Braai areas need desperate attention but this doesn't distract from the remarkable tranquility from the open space of nature

Great to camp at the site close to the midmar race., been camping for years the toilets have been getting worse and worse. The whole camp area and festival area looks run down. But don't expect any water in the abultions/ bathrooms at all ,all the bathrooms on camp site Munroe Bays are dirty, and no water have creepers growing through them. You go tell the manager they will look into it..we still waiting. Only one bathroom had water and hot water but you had to shower with shoes on and we were told we can't use it as it is for the staff and chased away. Catch a awake up make sure stuff is working that your customers pay for.
