If you living in Durban or Pietermaritzburg or maybe you visiting the region of Kwazulu-Natal, l urge you to make the effort over a weekend to go visit some of the most beautiful and impressive culinary, art galleries and home industry places in this region. Many of these gems sit only a few kilometers off the beaten track. Some are on the Midlands Meander and others on the road to the Drakensberg but whatever you decide, do not miss out on visiting the Piggly Wiggly Centre not so far out of Howick just passed the Midmar Dam. You will not be disappointed. This is a place created for those that just want to enjoy a meal in a beautiful setting or find that special gift for a loved one. They have a great restaurant with an amazing selection of foods on the menu but it's their other shops that cater for the art decor lover, furniture, jewelry and clothing stores that will blow you away. One of these stores is the "Zulu Lulu Art House." As a South African landscape artist myself l was blown away by the sure beauty and quality of some of their works. This is a place that you will not want to leave if you an art lover! I also love the fact that it has that spirit of African empowerment. The owner clearly is interested in helping local artists not only display their works of art but tries to support them with entrepreneurial skills and other. I therefore urge both local and foreigner to visit the place as you will want to invest in something really unique to remind you of this very special place in the Kwazulu-Natal region.

It is very rare that an art gallery will allow you to take pictures, let alone encourage it! We ended up chatting to the lovely lady running the art bar and gallery and learning a great deal too! If we hadn't been in short supply of time we would definitely have painted our own canvas or statue, but that's now for next time. This really seems like a great place to unwind after a long week, especially for all the creatives out there.

What an amazing place to take your family to do some painting on already made pottery. The atmosphere there is so relaxing the people are super friendly like you are just visiting your own family. Inviting helpful accommodating. We sat there for just about 2 hours and it was just such a pleasure. We cant wait to see the final results in 3 weeks time. Thank you to the owner and her mom for such a wonderful day.

Amazing! Can’t recommend them enough!! I booked my folks and their friends at Zulu Lulu to do some ceramic painting for my dads birthday. Shaun helped me plan the entire thing all the way from overseas! He was so helpful and accommodating, from the booking of the party, to the payment from abroad, to the organization on the day itself and even afterwards- offering to post the finished goods. Their prices are very reasonable too! Let’s support local, and put places and people like these on the map! Great...

Zulu Lulu is a fantastic venue with super friendly and helpful staff. The ceramic painting section has been hugely added to. What many don't appreciate is that firing and glazing is an art and not a science and the negative review is unfair and uncalled for considering the efforts management went to in this particular regard . As a customer and someone who has fired and glazed I understand the challenges that seldom arise. Common courtesy and understanding is something that Covid seems to have...
