Enseleni Nature Reserve — Attraction in uMhlathuze Local Municipality

Very beautiful nature reserve where you can do trail hiking. They also have a gorgeous community centre that is available to rent to host functions. Upon arrival you receive a booklet with a map of the hikes- this booklet even includes a checklist of animals/birds etc to tick off once spotter.

Great outing for families in Richardsbay/Empangeni as its very close. R40 entrance pp , hours are to 5pm in winter & 6pm in the summer. Very important to remember WALKING routes not driving routes. They have picnic/braai facilities too...

Don't see much wildlife roaming around anymore. There is a hiking trial which takes you alongside the Enseleni river. The river has loads of fish and crocodiles are known to be in the area.
