I am fortunate enough to live in Eshowe and close to the Dlinza Forest. I often drive through the forest and see duiker, bush buck, and a variety of birds. As a family or with friends, we also do the hiking trails. There are a few trails to choose from depending on the time you have on hand. The trails are educational as well because many of the trees have name plates for identification purposes. Bird life is plentiful and has, I may stand to be corrected, about 21 birds that you will see once in a lifetime. The most sought-after is the Spotted Thrush. When visiting Dlinza Forest, do visit the Board Walk and ask for a guide to show you around our amazing forest surrounded by our little town...

Dlinza Forest offers a great family experience for those who love the outdoors. The facility boasts a great path through the forest with info boards for many of the plants and trees. The biggest attraction is of course the Aerial Boardwalk which ends in a steel structure leading right up to the very top of the canopy. The view is breath-taking. There are many benches along the way to either rest or to just take in the experience. Back at the start of the trail there is safe parking, clean toilets, benches and tables to eat at and a good selection of food to buy. Payment is either via an...

What an incredible hidden gem 💎 just 90 minutes from Durban and definitely worth the stop to explore - give yourself at least 2-hours to enjoy the aerial boardwalk and tower before heading into the mystical Dlinza forest to discover birds, butterflies, 500 year old trees, duikers and so much more - the forest trail is an easy 1.8km of pure wonder and thanks to the incredible Nomusa and Johannes from Dlinza we spotted a crown eagle 🦅 and the elusive Narina Trogon 🐦 amongst others

An incredible morning - you need to add this stop to...

Very beautiful small scarp forest with best birding for Bronze naped pigeon, Spotted ground Thrush and Starred Robins. Excellent boardwalk to explore the tree canopy dwellers too. Recent changge of replacing indeginous woods by alien plants on the boardwalk does not look like an idea, as planks can wear off easily, get too smooth, collect algae and easily get slippery after rain which will make the place not look good during bad weather.
