Do not visit this place if you are in a bakkie. We only own a Bantam and the gate at the road wouldn't let us in because we had 3 children in the back of our bakkie. The parking lot was about 1 km from the boom. The security told us our kids would have to get out and walk to the parking because the bakkie wasn't allowed people in the back. We drove a long way to take a walk through the reserve with our kids only to be turned away. What kind of disgusting place is this that security wanted our kids to walk in because bakkie are not allowed in. For goodness sakes, a Bantam is smaller than an SUV but the guys mountain bikers were allowed to park.
Next.... please get people at the gate that.can.understand English or at least are able to communicate. How about someone that actually greets you. Your staff are as miserable as hell. I'll never visit this reserve ever again and I will never...

The strange cool weather for CT this time of year, is very pleasant for us elders, camping in our motorhome. SSStrand is becomming a regular camping site , 4 times a year, because it is close to us, at the sea, cheap, VERY quiet during the week (3rd time here over past 4 years...always alone in the camp, and impressive security with strict rules. And do not forget the interesting stuff washed out on the beach! Thanks to City of CT for keeping these fasilities...
Read moreAwesome and safe. Several metres of ocean that took my 6 year old to his belly butron before getting deeper. Good idea to take binoculars to watch them at a diatance when you are not in the warm oceans School holidays is peak season and we waited an hour in traffic to the entrance. Out of school holidays it was a breeze.
Peak season means cueing for braai area for houra. So pack snacks and or sandwiches for a day at the beach. Bring your shady gazebo or umbrella as the sun can cause proper sun burn. Sunblock a necessity.
Definitely worth the excursion. Would be nice to have a store for a coffee for the early arrival. And the toilets need some cleaning during the...
