Saddle Rock is a great place to stop and have break after having slogged for 10 or 20 min from the road up The Saddle. It is also the intersection of footpaths: going up/down The Saddle; going up/down Devil's Peak; traversing to Oppelskops köp via the upper path. The views of the city are great. The views of Table Mountain and Lions Head are stupendous. There is water around in winter and in summer it still feels like a somewhat richer spot, due to the fact that any moisture that is collected up there from cloud gathers into The Saddle, some underground, before making its way down the mountain, under the city in canals, and to the sea.
