Saddle Rock is a great place to stop and have break after having slogged for 10 or 20 min from the road up The Saddle. It is also the intersection of footpaths: going up/down The Saddle; going up/down Devil's Peak; traversing to Oppelskops köp via the upper path. The views of the city are great. The views of Table Mountain and Lions Head are stupendous. There is water around in winter and in summer it still feels like a somewhat richer spot, due to the fact that any moisture that is collected up there from cloud gathers into The Saddle, some underground, before making its way down the mountain, under the city in canals, and to the sea. I've left out pictures of the Rock itself, as the are plenty from other reviews.

Wow the elevation is brilliant out of this ordinary air. Trailed all the way from the beginning of Newlands Revine, all the way to the top. The truth is reaching these heights is very humbling, breathing the air will help you experience what your maker has for you 😉 Amazing

Nice views from this rock. Its a good resting point on the way to Devil's Peak or the fire lookout. The hike up to Saddle rock is a moderately steel climb from Devil's peak parking. Rocks on the path can be slippery when wet. Hiking alone is not recommended.
