Silverhurst trail in Constantia is a very popular dog walking route. There is a circular route you can do which is about 2km. The walk is flat and easy, and there is lots of shade and the river is right there for dogs to swim and drink water. My dogs love this trail and I bring them here often. Dogs can be off lead. The trail is safe and there are always other people walking there, mostly in the mornings before work and in the afternoons.

The Silverhurst Trail is one of the prettiest and safest trails within close proximity of suburbia. The trail is dog-friendly and real fun for both dogs and their owners. Walkers, cyclists and horse riders mingle in harmony. The area above High Constantia is particularly scenic and ideal for a short walk as there is ample parking offload. At the moment the rivulets are flowing fast adding to the magic of the walk.

This trail is magical... beautiful walk... streams and a little lake... benches along the way to stop for a rest if needed. It's a perfect place to recharge. We love all the doggie energy and visit often enjoying the beauty and splendor of nature's gifts. Highly recommend for a peaceful walk, we love going in the late afternoons...

This greenbelt offers winding gentle and undulating paths (fairly easy underfoot) on both side of the stream with both shady and sunny sections. (bridges cross at several points)

Beware of the dog deposits. Expect dogs off leashes and the occasional a friendly WET visitor near the "dam" ;)

Acccessable from Silverhurst road (top) - 4 parking bays Gilmore Circle (middle) Margaret Close (bottom middle) - steep steps down Constatia Main road (bottom) - large dirt parking lot

** The South side of the river is part of a popular Horse and mountain bike route that connects on the top end to Bel Ombre Meadow (via Silverhurst road) and Sillary walk on the bottom (via...

Walking here, transports me to an English meadow. It is just so serene and arboreal. Horses and gun dogs running around. It's kinda ridiculous.

It just requires some vigilance and surefire car locking. My car was broken into (so desperately unfortunate) and they ripped out the whole car stereo unit.

So park close to the road, in the broad sun and away from the overhanging flora.

Not a common occurrence, but rightly so, once is more than...
