One of the โ€œSansaโ€ buddhist temples in Korea recognized as UNESCO heritage site, Bongjeongsa is a small temple that is serene and quiet.

Located not too high up on the mountain, if you arrive here with a car you can drive up to the entrance. Otherwise, the walk up to the temple from the gate is not too far either.

There is no entry fee anymore (itโ€™s been removed by recent law change), so free to tour around. However, as others say unless you specifically came here for a reason or wanted to see this temple, I would skip it. Not too much to see, and similar to other temples.

Buseoksa temple (๋ถ€์„์‚ฌ) is more grandeur and larger than this temple, recommend going there if you want to...

One of the โ€œSansaโ€ buddhist temples in Korea recognized as UNESCO heritage site, Bongjeongsa is a small temple that is serene and quiet. Located not too high up on the mountain, if you arrive here with a car you can drive up to the entrance. Otherwise, the walk up to the temple from the gate is not too far either. There is no entry fee anymore (itโ€™s been removed by recent law change), so free to tour around. However, as others say unless you specifically came here for a reason or wanted to see this temple, I would skip it. Not too much to see, and similar to other temples. Buseoksa temple (๋ถ€์„์‚ฌ) is more grandeur and larger than this temple, recommend going there if you want to see a temple.

Bongjeongsa is a Korean Buddhist temple on Mount Cheondeung's slopes in Andong City, North Gyeongsang Province, South Korea. It holds significant cultural and historical value as a subsidiary temple of Gounsa, the head temple of the 16th branch of the Jogye Order. Notably, Bongjeongsa is regarded as one of Korea's most aesthetically pleasing temples and is believed to be the oldest, well-preserved wooden temple to date. The serene atmosphere and lack of crowds allowed for an undisturbed and peaceful experience during our visit. Furthermore, it is essential to note that Bongjeongsa is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, further underscoring its cultural significance.
