Well maintained coastal trail with good shade for most parts of the hike approximately 3.5 miles if you hike the full length. Highly recommend hiking it from south to north direction. Start from the Oryukdo Skywalk location near the SK View Apartment Buildings and head up the coastal trail. Going this direction is more downhill and with the sun behind you during the hike. There are a few toilets available during the trail. I would rate this as a 2 out of 5 difficulty going in this direction. Trail takes about 1.5 to 2 hours if you take in the views. I started this hike around 11am on a Saturday and saw many older Koreans bring Kimbop and drinks to picnic with during the middle of the hike by the water. Hiked on a Saturday morning in January and saw maybe less than 50 people during the whole hike. Wasn’t crowded for me on this day and...

The views are beautiful and on a nice day you can actually see Tsushima Island (Japan). The trail runs from point to point and includes several climbs (stairs).

Along the trail there are several view points/resting areas.

The trail is not doable with little kids, strollers or wheelchairs. At certain points the trail gets really narrow and only one person can pass at the time.

Just FYI, some of the locals aren’t that friendly towards foreigners and they think all foreigners should move out of the way for them! They keep walking side by side and they expect others to move out of the way. Pretty sad if you ask me. But walking with your elbows up in a situation like that really helps if you know what I mean!

The hike is about 3.5 Km one way and it’ll take you 1.5h when walking at a faster pace.

Highly recommended for the...

The trail has a lot of potential, but there are some annoying aspects that hold it back.

The good points are the stunning views and extensive foliage.

The annoying part is the trail path itself. Some legs of the trail have even steps and walkways but many parts have dangerous rocks jetting out of the earth. It’s very easy to trip over these rocks and tree roots. It would help if they laid some rope tarps over the bumps to even things out. The trail is also too narrow and because it can get crowded, this creates bottlenecks and traffic jams.

If they rebuilt this trail more evenly, wider and with consistent guardrails, it would make the hike a much more...
